Upon request, this information can be available in larger print and/or in electronic format. This was passed. A. Call To Order The meeting was called to order at 3:30 p.m. by 2nd Vice-chairman Hicks. B. Roll Call Roll was called and a quorum was present. Present: 10- Paul A. Cameron Jr.,John LaRue, Kusumakar Sooda, Rosie Collin, Rick Barrera, Mike Culbertson, Brett Oetting, Jeremy Taylor, Randall Hicks, and Rey Saenz Absent: 2- Hans Schumann,and Jon Reily C. Public Comment There was no public comment. D. Approval of Minutes and Action on Absences 23-0856 Approval of the Absences for the April 26th, 2023 Regular Airport Board Meeting Attachments: 2023 AIRPORT BOARD ATTENDANCE Second Vice-chairman Hicks called for a motion on the absences for the April 26th, 2023 Regular Airport Board Meeting. Board member Collin was absent from the April meeting. Board member Cameron moved to excuse Board member Collin. Board member Barrera seconded and the motion carried. 23-0857 Approval of the Minutes for the April 26th, 2023 Regular Airport Board Meeting Attachments: 04262023 April Airport Board Minutes- Unpublished City of Corpus Christi Page 1 Printed on 6/28/2023 Airport Board Meeting Minutes -Final May 31,2023 Second Vice-chairman Hicks called for a motion on the minutes from the April 26th, 2023 Regular Airport Board Meeting. Board member Cameron moved to approve the minutes as written. Board member Collin seconded and the motion carried. E. New Business for Discussion and Possible Action 23-0865 Emerging Professionals Internship Program Recognition Noemi Perez, Sr Management Analyst, who supervises both the high school and college Interns, reported to the members that Tyler Finger, Airport High School intern, was recognized for his efforts as an intern by the Calallen School District. The Airport was also recognized for the work and support given this program. This program was extra credit for high school participants. 23-0860 Presentation and Discussion of Driscoll Children's Hospital's Facility at the Corpus Christi International Airport Attachments: 05312023- Driscoll Child rens Hospital Transport Deputy Director Miller introduced Jeremy Goodman, Director of Driscoll Children's Hospital 's Critical Care Unit located at CCIA, who gave a presentation highlighting their facilities and emergency response teams. Dr. Goodman made a formal presentation to the members. Discussion followed. 23-0858 Nominations and Possible Action to Elect Airport Board Officers for 2023-2024 Second Vice-chairman informed the members of the nominations made via email. At present, nomination are as follows: Current Second Vice-chairman Hicks was nominated as Chairman; John LaRue as First Vice-chairman and Rick Barrera as Second Vice-chairman. A motion was made by Board member Collin to accept the nominations as stated. The motion was seconded by Board member Saenz. The motion carried. Randall Hicks has been elected as the Airport Board chairman; John LaRue was elected as the First Vice-chairman; and, Rick Barrera as the Second Vice-chairman. 23-0859 Presentation, Discussion and Possible Action to Recommend to City Council to Approve the Aeronautical Radio Lease Agreement Attachments: 05312023-ARINC Lease Deputy Director Miller updated the members on the Lease Agreement with Aeronautical Radio (ARINC). Discussion was heard on this item. Chairman Hicks moved to recommend City Council approve the Aeronautical Radio Lease Agreement. First Vice-chair LaRue seconded the motion and carried. F. Staff Reports City of Corpus Christi Page 2 Printed on 6/28/2023 Airport Board Meeting Minutes -Final May 31,2023 23-0862 JumpStart Conference Update Attachments: 05312023-JUMPSTART 2023 Deputy Director Miller reported on staff participation at recent air service development conferences beginning with the Air Service Development JumpStart Conference that Director Smith will be attending from June 12 to 14 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Discussion was heard on this item. Staff will follow-up with the board at the next meeting. 23-0863 South Central Chapter (SCC) -American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE) Conference Update Attachments: 05312023-SCC-AAAE CONFERENCE Deputy Director Miller reported he attended the South Central Chapter (SCC) of the American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE) conference May 12 to 17 in Oklahoma City. Discussion was heard on this item. 23-0864 Gault Hangar Demolition Update Attachments: 05312023- HANGAR 1 DEMO) Deputy Director Miller reviewed the history of this item with the board. He also updated the members on the status of the hangar demolition. He stated that in June, an RFP will be issued for a request for bids to demolish the building. An RFP will be brought to the board for their recommendation to City Council. The Board will be updated on this item as this process continues. 23-0867 General Activity Report (GAR) Attachments: 05312023-GAR- PKT Kimberly Miller, Airport Finance Director, presented the May's General Activity Report to the members. She noted that enplaned passengers were up from last year as well as with the number of seats available. Discussion was heard on this item. 23-0868 Financial Report Attachments: 05312023- Financial Reports Kimberly Miller, Airport Finance Manager, reported on the Airport's May Financial Report to the members. She began by reporting that 2023 parking operations were up by 21% over 2022. She also reported that the 2023 Food and Beverage concession also increased by 20% from 2022. She reviewed the financials with the members. Discussion was heard on this item. 23-0869 Construction Report Attachments: 05312023-CONSTRUCTION REPORT Deputy Director Miller updated the members on the on-going construction project. He City of Corpus Christi Page 3 Printed on 6/28/2023 Airport Board Meeting Minutes -Final May 31,2023 began by reporting that the patio construction has begun. He reported that the terminal roof replacement is near completion. He also reported the Airport's curbside area would be closed beginning June 15th when crews would begin working on the terminal "wave" roof. This closure would be for 10 days. He also informed the members on the measures that will be implemented once construction begins on the airport terminal restrooms. Discussion was heard on this item. G. Future Agenda Items First Vice-chairman suggested that City Council should also see the Driscoll Childrens Hospital presentation. H.
