Roll Call Mr. Bell, Mr. Wood, Mr. Kelley, and Mr. Pendylshok were absent from the meeting. Present: 5- Curt Broomfield, John Murray, Marcus Veazey, Don Dunlap, and Alyssa B. Mason Excused: 4- Vice Chair Charles Pendlyshok, John Wood, Richard E. Bell,and Robert Kelley C. Public Comment Jesse Splawn, liveaboard tenant addressed his concerns about the general public speeding around the Peoples Street T-head, as well as safety concerns regarding the scooters. Mr. Splawn recounted an occasion he was involved in a collision with a woman scootering on the sidewalk. A police report was made. D. Approval of Minutes and Action on Absences 1. 23-0613 Minutes for the March 6th regular meeting Attachments: MACMinsMar23.pdf The minutes were approved. E. Committee Reports N/A F. Director's Report Mr. Atwood advised in his director's report that the marina software update will go live at the end of the week. Future events include the Wings Over South Texas Air Show during Buc Days in a month. The board discussed bringing the power boat races back to the marina. Unfinished Business 3. 22-1029 Capital Improvement Projects Mr. Atwood provided updates on Capital Improvement Projects. He advised we received the dock construction permit and the RFP for construction bids went out the last week in March and the bid process will take 30 days. The Coopers Alley boater's facility design contract will tentatively go to City Council in early May. The haul out facility design contract goes to Council on April 11th. If the design contract is approved by Council the 8-to-9-month design process begins. H. New Business for Discussion and Possible Action 4. 23-0614 Review of Peoples St Boardwalk Design Plan Mr. Atwood showed the board print outs of the 90% design submittal from Jacob's Engineering for the Peoples Street Boardwalk. Renderings are still being produced, so Mr. Atwood asked that any suggestions or concerns be emailed to him. Mr. Atwood answered several questions from the board confirming the boardwalk will be a fixed concrete structure, the shrimp boats will not relocate once the boardwalk is complete, it will be used as a commercial space and for daily transients. The estimated schedule for the boardwalk construction once the design has been approved is 9 months. 5. 23-0615 Fuel Station RFP Mr. Broomfield requested a status update on an RFP for a new fuel station. Mr. Atwood advised he found an RFP the marina sent out in 2012 that did not include plans for a store. Two individuals have submitted plans for a fuel station with a store or restaurant, but executive staff is concerned about funding and experience. Mr. Broomfield insisted there should be a newer RFP that included a store in the marina's archives. Mr. Atwood advised we're pushing forward to find a vendor for a fuel station, but the numbers are a huge hurdle. Ms. Mason suggested tabling the discussion until Mr. Atwood did more research on previous RFPs. 6. 23-0616 Downtown Development Alyssa Mason, the director of the Downtown Management District, informed the board of 5 new projects included in the reinvestment zone funding. A Homewood Suites, 2 bars, a tap room for Lazy Beach Brewing, and a restaurant at the Art Center. The aim of these new businesses is to bring connectivity to downtown Corpus Christi. 7. 23-0617 Raise and Repair of Breakwater Mr. Atwood explained Engineering is procuring an engineer for phase 2 of the McGee Beach project included in the FY 23 Bond. We're 6 to 8 months away from a feasibility study and design. The previous breakwater project was recommended to be raised 2 feet. I. Future Agenda Items Future agenda items are traffic safety, fuel station RFP, and DMD presentation. J. Adjournment The meeting adjourned at 6:44pm. This meeting may be held via videoconference call pursuant to Texas Government Code § 551.127. If this meeting is held via videoconference call or other remote method of meeting, then a member of this governmental body presiding over this meeting will be physically present at the location of this meeting unless this meeting is held pursuant to Texas Government Code § 551.125 due to an emergency or other public necessity pursuant to Texas Government Code § 551.045.
