A. Call To Order
The meeting was called to order at 10:35 am.
B. Roll Call
Present: Julie Rogers, Vickie Natale, Pooja Bindingnavele, Candace Hart, Alice
Hawkins, Carroll Matthews
Present Virtually: None
Absent: Nicole Carroll, Sharron Hines, Dora Wilburn
C. Public Comment
There was no public comment.
D. Approval of Minutes and Action on Absences
A motion to amend the June minutes to remove the comma in Candace Hart's name and
correct capitalization in the Director's Report was made by Candace Hart and seconded
by Vickie Natale. The motion passes unanimously. A motion to approve the June minutes
as amended was made Alice Hawkins and seconded by Candace Hart. The motion
passed unanimously.

F. Director's Report
3. 23-1094 Director's Report
Alan Carlos, Assistant Director, gave a presentation on two apps that will be introduced
to the public in the coming months: Capira, and ReadSquared. Both have features that
will integrate with Koha our Integrated Library System and will be used to improve
services to patrons.
An overview of Summer Reading program with statistics was provided.
Information regarding the Discovery Dome mobile planetarium booking process,
requirements, and 2023 statistics was provided. Also discussed was the partnership with
the Corpus Christi Astronomical Society, who want to assist us when we take the dome
out into the community.
Library Cooling Centers—the library is operating as a cooling center during regular
operating hours. Saturday operating hours are expanded or overlap with cooling center
hours which are from 12-6. On Sundays, which is not a regularly scheduled operational
day, all locations have opened from 12-6 pm. Services are being provided during all
cooling center hours.
La Retama Bond Project- the first meeting was held with selected architect firm Solka,
Nava & Torno which included a walk through.
FY2024 Budget Workshops- more updates to come.
