Roll Call Present: 9- Vice Chair Charles Pendlyshok, Curt Broomfield,John Wood, John Murray, Marcus Veazey, Don Dunlap,Alyssa B. Mason, Richard E. Bell, and Robert Kelley C. Public Comment n/a D. Approval of Minutes and Action on Absences The June 2023 minutes were approved as is. 1. 23-1156 Minutes for the June 5th regular meeting Attachments: MACMinsJun23 E. Committee Reports n/a F. Director's Report Mr. Atwood advised that the sunken sailboat was removed from the marina in mid-June. The boat broke apart in the slings, causing what should have been a 2-hour project to become a 6-hour project. The contractor did not increase the agreed upon amount for the job. The mayor's 4th of July Big Bang Celebration was a success even with a new fireworks vendor. Future events include the Navy Regatta August 4th through 6th. At the end of this year the debt service for E, F, G, and H piers will drop off, which will allow us to pay off the R pier debt sooner. 2. 23-1157 Year to date expenditure, revenue, and occupancy reports Attachments: June 2023 Reports G. Unfinished Business City of Corpus Christi Page 1 Printed on 8/8/2023 Marina Advisory Committee Meeting Minutes -Final July 10,2023 3. 23-1158 Capital Improvement Projects Update Mr. Atwood provided updates on Capital Improvement Projects. City Council approved the pier replacement contract on June 27th with an estimated start date after Labor Day. We will send the remaining tenants on A and B piers an email to relocate before we start shutting off power and water. The Coopers Alley boater's facility and haul out facility kick off meeting took place June 12th and 13th. The goal is to have a 30% design rendering before sharing with the City Manager and MAC. The 100% submittal for the Peoples Street boardwalk design has been received and we are waiting on Harrison's Landing to finalize their project before moving forward. On June 27th City Council approved the Marina master plan contract. H. New Business for Discussion and Possible Action 4. 23-1159 Traffic Safety - Public Works Department Renee Couture, the Assistant Director of Public Works over the Streets Department spoke about traffic safety in the marina. They are currently testing rubber speed strips on Oso Parkway as a more cost-effective alternative to asphalt speed bumps. Mr. Atwood requested testing them in the marina to deter car clubs and speeding around the Peoples Street T-head. Ms. Couture advised that after the paving project is complete LED stop signs can be installed. 5. 23-1160 Spoil Area Update Dan Koesema and Clark Robinson from the Port of Corpus Christi discussed the status of the ship channel dredging project and depth of the spoil area. The Port is looking to install more robust markers and requested MAC input on the number of markers needed. Mr. Bell advised the race courses for regattas have been cut by 50% due to depth. Mr. Koesema reiterated that the Port has influence, but not the final word in the specifics in the project. I. Future Agenda Items Fuel station, traffic safety J.
