I. CALL TO ORDER
The meeting was called to order by Monica Pareso at 1:30pm in the Council Chambers on the
first floor of City Hall.

III. PUBLIC COMMENT
A motion was made by Monica Pareso to open the floor for public comment. As there was no
response, Catherine Giffin closed the public comment.
IV. MINUTES
A motion was made by John Solberg and seconded by Merced Pena to approve the minutes
of the Regular Meeting of Januga 26, 2023. A roll call vote was taken, and the motion
passed unanimously.
A motion was made by John Solberg and seconded by Merced Pena to approve the minutes
of the Regular Meeting of November 17, 2022. A roll call vote was taken, and the motion
passed unanimously.
V. ABSENCES
A motion was made by John Solberg and seconded by Merced Pena to excuse the absence of
Monica Pareso from the Regular Meeting held on January 26, 2023. A roll call vote was
taken, and the motion passed unanimously.
VI. STAFF REPORT
The Staff Report was presented to the Board for discussion and information regarding
cases from January 28, 2021, to present. A motion was made by John Solberg seconded
by Merced Pena to approve the staff report. A roll call vote was taken, and the motion
passed unanimously.
VII. OLD BUSINESS
1214'/2 -20 n Staples., Demolition Commercial (COLONIA MEXICANA LTS 3,4,5,& 6
BLK SE/2E).
Staff Recommendation: To require demolition due to the extent of deterioration.

Motion:
A motion was made by Monica Pareso and seconded by Merced Pena to reject the staff
recommendation and table this case until the next board hearing scheduled for May 2023.
Owner is required to bring in an engineer's report and a plan of action for restoration, a
vacancy plan or show applications that have been filed for historical preservation. A roll call
vote was taken and passed unanimously.
2. 5109 Green Park Units 1-4., Demolition Residence (VILLAGE ON THE GREEN LTS 9
& 10 blk 1).
Staff Recommendation: To require demolition due to the extent of fire damage.

A motion was made by John solberg and seconded by Merced Pena to accept the staff
recommendation and require demolition of the structure(s) according to Section 13-22(II) (1)
(c) of the Corpus Christi Property Maintenance Code in which the owner will be allowed
thirty (30) days to obtain proper permits and complete the demolition of the structure(s)
located at 5109 Green Park Units 1-4., Demolition Residence ( VILLAGE ON THE
GREEN LTS 9 & 10 blk 1 ). If the demolition is not started and completed as required, then
the City is authorized to demolish. A roll call vote was taken and passed unanimously.
3. 2029 Stardust Ln., Demolition Residence and Accessory Structure (Don Patricio Blk B
Lot 32).
Staff Recommendation: To require demolition due to the extent of fire.

A motion was made by Monica Pareso_and seconded by John Solberg to accept the staff
recommendation and require demolition of the structure(s) according to Section 13-22(I) (1)
(c) of the Corpus Christi Property Maintenance Code in which the owner will be allowed
thirty (30) days to obtain proper permits and complete the demolition of the structure(s)
located at 2029 Stardust Ln., Demolition Residence and Accessory Structure (Don
Patricio Blk B Lot 32). If the demolition is not started and completed as required, then the
City is authorized to demolish. A roll call vote was taken and passed unanimously.
VIII. NEW BUSINESS
1. 3130 Austin St., Demolition Accessory Structure (ALAMEDA PLACE BLK 3 LOT 6)
Staff Recommendation: To require demolition due to the extent of deterioration.

A motion was made by John Solberg and seconded by Merced Pena to accept the staff
recommendation and require demolition of the structure(s) according to Section 13-22(H) (1)
(c) of the Corpus Christi Property Maintenance Code in which the owner will be allowed
thirty (30) days to obtain proper permits and complete the demolition of the structure(s)
located at 3130 Austin St., Demolition Accessory Structure (ALAMEDA PLACE BLK 3
LOT 6). If the demolition is not started and completed as required, then the City is authorized
to demolish. A roll call vote was taken and passed unanimously.
2. 3805 Betel St., Demolition Residence and Accessory Structure (TEMPLE BLK 13 LT 8)
Staff Recommendation: To require demolition due to the extent of deterioration.

A motion was made by John Solberg and seconded by Merced Pena to reject the staff
recommendation and table this case until the next board hearing scheduled for May 2023 to
give the owner an opportunity to present their intentions to the board. A roll call vote was
taken from John Solberg and Merced Pena. Opposed by Monica Pareso.
3. 3206 Elgin Rd., Demolition Residence (CARVER #2 BLK 5 LOT 25)
Staff Recommendation: To require demolition due to the extent of deterioration.

A motion was made by John Solberg and seconded by Merced Pena to accept the staff
recommendation and require demolition of the structure(s) according to Section 13-22(IT) (1)
(c) of the Corpus Christi Property Maintenance Code in which the owner will be allowed
thirty (30) days to obtain proper permits and complete the demolition of the structure(s)
located at 3206 Elgin Rd., Demolition Residence (CARVER #2 BLK 5 LOT 25).
If the demolition is not started and completed as required, then the City is authorized to
demolish. A roll call vote was taken and passed unanimously.
4. 2018 Oranse St., Demolition Residence (DON PATRICIO LT 18 BLK M).
Staff Recommendation: To require demolition due to the extent of deterioration.

A motion was made by John Solberg and seconded by Merced Pena to accept the staff
recommendation and require repair of the structure(s) according to Section 13-22(IT) (1) (c)
of the Corpus Christi Property Maintenance Code in which the owner will be allowed thirty
(30) days to obtain proper permits and complete the repair of the structure(s) located at 2018
Orange St., Demolition Residence (DON PATRICIO LT 18 BLK M). If the demolition is
not started and completed as required, then the City is authorized to demolish. A roll call vote
was taken and passed unanimously.
5. 2738 Sacky Dr., Demolition Residence and Accessory Structure (LEXINGTON SUB LT
30 -B BLK3).
Staff Recommendation: To require demolition due to the extent of deterioration.

recommendation and require repair of the structure(s) according to Section 13-22(I) (1) (c)
of the Corpus Christi Property Maintenance Code in which the owner will be allowed thirty
(30) days to obtain proper permits and complete the repair of the structure(s) located at 2738
Sacky Dr., Demolition Residence (LEXINGTON SUB LT 30 -B BLK3). If the demolition
is not started and completed as required, then the City is authorized to demolish. A roll call
vote was taken and passed unanimously.
