H. New Business for Discussion and Possible Action 5. 23®1514 Derelict/Abandoned Boats Texas General Land Office Senior Response Officer Alan Oswalt and Texas Parks and Wildlife Captain Ben Baker explained the processes the state of Texas takes when a vessel is found abandoned in state submerged land. The GLO, Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, and the City of Corpus Christi partner for the Vessel Turn In program where trailered vessels 26' and under can be turned into the landfill for demolition free of charge. Larger vessels require a waiver from GLO. You do not have to be the titled owner of a vessel to turn it in as long as you fill out an affidavit. Due to an increase in illegal dumping over the last 5 years TPWD is cracking down on boat owners reporting the change in ownership when selling a boat. There is a 45 day period after the sale in which the report must be filed with TPWD. Captain Baker and his team will be conducting a registration inspection in the marina next month. I.
