A. Call To Order
The meeting was called to order at 10:33 am.
B. Roll Call
Present: Pooja Bindingnavele, Nicole Carroll, Candace Hart, Alice Hawkins, Dora
Wilburn
Present Virtually: None
Absent: Julie Rogers, Carroll Matthews, Vickie Natale, Sharron Hines
C. Public Comment
No Public Comment.
D. Approval of Minutes and Action on Absences
A motion to approve the September minutes was made by Pooja Bindingnavele and
seconded by Nicole Carroll. The motion passed unanimously.

E. Friends of CCPL Liaison Report
2. 23-1580 Friends of CCPL Liaison Report
• The Friends Annual Meeting will be held on Wednesday, October 25 at the McDonald
Library at 5:30pm.
• The National Friends of the Library Week is from October 15-21.
•A press conference is being planned for either the Friends of Library Week or shortly

after to recognize two companies that have donated funds to the Friends for the Sensory
Room.
F. Director's Report
3. 23-1581 Director's Report
• The budget enhancement requests were approved. Adding security guard hours to the
current Security Guard contract will likely require budget approval. Hopefully, we will be
able to take it to City Council in November.
• HR is creating the two new Librarian positions; the goal is to complete the hiring
process by January.
• Items for the sensory room have started arriving.
• The library received a grant, through the Friends of CCPL, from the Barbara Bush
Foundation to develop a Family Place Library at the Hopkins Library.
• Public comment last month suggested large print brochures. Laura provided a sample
of a large print edition. Alice suggested working with the public high schools to make
large print and Spanish editions, she will reach out.
G. Unfinished Business
4. 23-1602 Upcoming Vacancy and Appointment Discussion
• Julie Rogers and Nicole Carroll will term out in November. Pooja Bindingnavele,
Candace Hart, and Vickie Natale are up for re-appointment. They must submit an
updated application by October 31. Re-appointments and vacancies should be provided
to Council on November 14.
