Senior Corps Advisory Committee
REGULAR MEETING
Friday, 15 September 2023, at 3:00 p.m.

AGENDA
A. Call to Order at: Joann Arevalo, Chair, at 3:01 p.m.
B. Roll Call of Members: Joann Arevalo, Chair, at 3:03 p.m.
a. The quorum was reached to begin meeting.
b. Attendees Present: Jeannine, SCP Director, Joann, Gary and Kathy, Volunteer Representative.
c. Absent Members; Stephanie, Ericka, and Allison.
C. Public Comment:
a. Members of the audience will be provided an opportunity to speak at the Committee meeting.
b. A recording is made at these meetings. You must first idents yourself by name and address. Then state
your point as briefly as possible when addressing the Committee.
c. Presentations will be limited to three (3) minutes.
d. Please be advised that the Open Meetings Act prohibits the Senior Companion Program Advisory
Committee from responding to and discussing your comments at length. The law only authorizes them
to do the following:
1). Make a statement offactual information.
2). Recite an existing policy in response to the inquiry, or
3). Advise the citizens that this subject will be placed on an agenda at a later date.
D. Approval of Minutes: Minutes read. Motion was provided to approve Meeting Minutes, and Motion
carried.
E. Staff Reports:
a. August SCP Program Update: Jeannine provided SCP Program Update.
1). There are 69 Companions.
2). 69 clients were served, over 12,242.00 Service Hours recorded for clients, and
over 22,242.00 miles were driven for clients.
3). There were two (2) New Companions trained.
b. June RSVP Program Update: Update Information wasn't available.

F. Unfinished/old Business:
a. On Friday, 08 September 2023 their Annual 911 Dispatchers event, that was held on the First Floor at
the Corpus Christi Police Station beginning at 10 a.m.
G. New Business for Discussion and Possible Action
a. TSCA Officers Meeting August, at 2:00 p.m.
b. Portfolio Managers visit on Thursday; September 71h 2023.
c. Senior Companions delivered the 911 Dispatchers event baskets to the Police Station at 10:00 a.m. on
Friday: September 81h 2023.
d. Updating MOD's completed
e. 2024 Monthly in-service schedule is set.
f. Senior Companions are bringing clients to have lunch at Oveal Williams Senior Center.
g. Senior Companions will be hosting a Halloween Dance on Friday; October 13th, 2023. There will be a
DJ and booths with Volunteer stations.
h. Senor Companions are being asked to dress up for a costume contest.
i. November Thanksgiving Luncheon scheduled on Monday; November 20th 2023.
j. December Luncheon scheduled for Friday; December 8th 2023, time TBD.
k. On Friday; January 12th, 2024, first scheduled workshop.
H. SET NEXT MEETING/ADJOURNMENT.
a. Next Meeting set for October 13,2023, 3:00 p.m., at the Oveal Williams Senior Center Conference
Room.
b. Meeting adjourned on Friday; 13 September 2023, 3:39 p.m.
