F. Director's Report
In his director's report Marina Manager, Jonathan Atwood, advised the MAC we recently
replaced a washing machine in the Peoples St. boater's facility and a washer/dryer
combination in the Coopers Alley boater's facility. A new ice machine with stainless steel
parts should arrive within 2 weeks. Future events include spring break next week. The
marina is already experiencing a surge in crowds on the weekends. A tenant reached out
to Mr. Dunlap stating his boat ran aground outside the gap. Mr. Atwood explained unique
circumstances may have caused the boat to run aground. The boat has a 7 ft draft, it was
a full moon on top of an already low tide. Mr. Atwood intends to use a depth finder in the
area later this week.

3. 24-0237 Capital Improvement Projects Update
Mr. Atwood updated the committee on the department's Capital Improvement Projects.
Mr. Atwood advised the dredge plan for the A B C D and L dock project is approved and
the dredge barge will arrive midweek. The demolition of A dock is complete and after the
dredge material is disposed of, they will begin demolishing B pier. Bellingham Marine
has completed 45% of the L dock construction at their facility in Florida. It will be brought
in on 18 trucks once it is time for construction to begin. The Coopers Alley boater's
facility is 90% designed. Mr. Atwood met with the City's Water Department about
replacing 2 lines when the project is in progress. We are still waiting for a Corps of
Engineers permit to begin the Peoples Street Boardwalk project, and there has been no
confirmation if bids have gone out. The Marina Master Plan should be finalized this week,
then Mr. Atwood will begin sharing the plan with different boards before taking it to
Council for approval.
4. 24-0359 Fuel Station
Mr. Atwood advised a proposal for a fuel station came in after the RFP closed. The RFP
will likely be reopened for companies to resubmit proposals.
24-0360 Traffic Safety
There is still no solution in place for traffic safety in the marina. The Streets department
was not satisfied with the temporary speed bump product and will not install permanent
speed bumps until the paving project is completed. Mr. Broomfield and Mr. Murray
stressed the importance of any kind of safety measure being put in place due to the
heavy pedestrian traffic on Peoples Street.
H. New Business for Discussion and Possible Action
6. 24-0362 Vote for New Chairperson and Vice Chairperson
Mr. Broomfield nominated Mr. Murray for the chairman position, Ms. Mason seconded
and there were no objections. Mr. Broomfield nominated Mr. Pendlyshok for the vice
chairman position and Mr. Murray seconded. There were no objections.
7. 24-0361 Navigation Aid Update
Mr. Broomfield and Mr. Atwood met with the Coast Guard chief in charge of navigation
aids last week. He agreed to bring their boat with drilling capability to fix the out of order
aids and install red and green hazard signs. He is also willing to assist with putting white
markers where the old Sunfish Island was.
