The mission of the Business & Jobs Development (Type A) and B Corporations is to promote and enhance the City of Corpus Christi's economic base by supporting projects and programs that create primary jobs, improve small business and affordable housing opportunities, and improve infrastructure in our City. A. President Leah Pagan Olivarri to call the meeting to order. President Leah Olivarri called the meeting to order at 1:32 p.m. B. Call Roll: City Secretary Rebecca Huerta called the roll and verified that a quorum of the Board was present to conduct the meeting. Board Member Eric Evans arrived at 1:36p.m. Present 7 - President Leah Pagan Olivarri, Secretary Diana Summers, Board Member Robert Tamez, Vice -President Alan Wilson, Board Member Jesus Jimenez, Board Member Eric Evans, and Board Member Mark LaRue C. PUBLIC COMMENT: President Olivarri referred to Public Comment. There were no comments from the public. D. MINUTES / EXCUSE ABSENCES 1. 24-0249 Approval of Minutes for the Type B Board January 22, 2024 Regular Meeting. President Olivarri referred to Item 1. Mr. LaRue made a motion to approve the minutes as presented, seconded by Ms Summers, and passed unanimously. Mr. Jimenez and Mr. Evans requested an excused absence for the January 22, 2024 meetings. Mr. Wilson made a motion to excuse both absences, seconded by Mr. LaRue and passed unanimously. FINANCIAL REPORT 2. 24-0438 Type B Financial Reports as of January 31, 2024 President Olivarri referred to Item 2 Interim Director of Finance Alma Casas presented the financial reports as of January 31, 2024. Board Members discussed the following topics: if there are any Infill Housing projects and the status of the Alma Housing Project. Assistant City Manager Heather Hurlbert stated they have not received any interest from investors for any Infill Housing programs and may release the commitment for the Alma Housing Project. F. PUBLIC HEARING: This agenda constitutes notice of any project or type of project that is the subject of a public hearing for purposes of section 505.160 of the Texas Local Government Code. I. PRESENTATION ITEMS: 3. 24-0431 Gabe Lozano Executive 9-hole Golf Course Lighting Project Update President Olivarri referred to Item 3. Foresight Gold Chief Operating Servant Edward Miller presented an update on the Gabe Lozano Executive 9-hole Golf Course Lighting Project. Mr. Miller presented the following projects: Firefly and Practice Range Project Finding; Project Budget and Expenditures to Date; The Projects and Amenities You Find Need To Be Done That Were not in The Original Plan or Budget; Practice Range From the Tee; Putting Green Complex on the Par 3, 7th Hole; Green Complex on Par 4, 9th Hole; TifTuf Hybrid Bermuda grass Runners Covering Bare Spots and a Firefly YouTube Clip. Board Members and Mr. Miller discussed the following topics: golf course water source and whether the music will be a problem for the nearby residence. 4. 24-0409 Corpus Christi Regional Economic Development Corporation Quarterly Report President Olivarri referred to Item 4. Mr. Almaguer presented the following projects: Botanical Gardens; CCPATCH - The Ritz; Botanical Gardens; Next Sport Company; Texas A&M University - CC Industrial and Civil Engineering: Texas A&M University - Lone Star UAS Center; Service Corps of Retired Executives (SCORE); LiftFund Interest Buy -Down Program, Texas A&M University - Corpus Christi Internship Program; Del Mar College APEX Accelerator; Del Mar College Contract Resource Center (CRC)• Contract Resource Center Report; Del Mar College - Cyber Center; Del Mar College Internship Program; Del Mar College -Small Business Development Center Board Members and Mr. Almaguer discussed the following topics: Botanical Gardens and Texas A&M University Corpus Chrristi - Lone Star UAS Center will request an extension for their projects; list of companies who participated with Texas A&M University Corpus Christi Internship Program and the barriers to keeping full time positions in Corpus Christi. J. EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR COMMENTS: President Olivarri referred to the Executive Director comments. City Manager Peter Zanoni had no comments. K. ADJOURNMENT There being no further business, President Olivarri adjourned the meeting at 2:11 p.m. This meeting may be held via videoconference call pursuant to Texas Government Code § 551.127. If this meeting is held via videoconference call or other remote method of meeting, then a member of this governmental body presiding over this meeting will be physically present at the location of this meeting unless this meeting is held pursuant to Texas Government Code § 551.125 due to an emergency or other public necessity pursuant to Texas Government Code § 551.045.
