Health Emergency Preparedness and Response Grant for $205,548.00 with a
cash or in -kind match of $20,555.00 from the Department of State Health
Services (DSHS); and appropriating $205,548.00 in the Health Grant Fund to
provide Laboratory Response Network (LRN) Level 3 chemical laboratory
surge capacity activities from July 1, 2024, through June 30, 2025.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. The City Manager or designee is authorized to execute all documents
necessary to execute Contract No. HHS001439000008 (the "Contract") between the
Department of State Health Services ("DSHS") and Corpus Christi-Nueces County Public
Health District for a grant in the amount of $205,548.00, with a cash or in -kind match of
$20,555.00 from July 1, 2024, through June 30, 2025, to provide Laboratory Response
Network (LRN) Level 3 chemical laboratory surge capacity activities.
SECTION 2. Funds in the amount of $205,548.00 are appropriated in the Health Grants
Fund No. 1066 to pay for personnel costs, supplies, and other expenses; to provide a
Public Health Emergency Preparedness Laboratory Response Program to maintain and
support an action plan to respond to an act of bioterrorism and biological threats in the
community.
SECTION 3. The City Manager or designee is authorized to execute any future
amendments to the Contract that extend the contract period or increase or decrease the
amount of the grant.
SECTION 4. A copy of the executed health grant contract and amendments shall be filed
in the office of the City Secretary.
