The mission of the Business & Jobs Development (Type A) and B Corporations is to
promote and enhance the City of Corpus Christi's economic base by supporting
projects and programs that create primary jobs, improve small business and affordable
housing opportunities, and improve infrastructure in our City.
A. President Leah Pagan Olivarri to call the meeting to order.
President Leah Olivarri called the meeting to order at 1:32 p.m.
B. Call Roll:
Assistant City Secretary Stephanie Box called the roll and verified that a quorum of
the Board was present to conduct the meeting.
Mr. Jimenez arrived at 1:48 p.m.
Present 3 - Secretary Diana Summers, Vice -President Alan Wilson, and Board Member Mark
LaRue
Absent 1 - Board Member Jesus Jimenez
C. PUBLIC COMMENT:
President Olivarri referred to Public Comment. There were no comments from the
public.
D. MINUTES / EXCUSE ABSENCES
1. 24-1560 Approval of Minutes for the Type B Board July 15, 2024 Regular Meeting and
August 19, 2024 Special Meeting.
President Olivarri referred to Item 1. Mr. Wilson made a motion to approve the
minutes as presented, seconded by Mr. Tamez, and passed unanimously.

President Olivarri referred to Item 2. Director of Finance Sergio Villasana presented
the financial reports as of July 31, 2024.

H. PUBLIC HEARING:
This agenda constitutes notice of any project or type of project that is the
subject of a public hearing for purposes of section 505.160 of the Texas Local
Government Code.
3. 24-1554 Public Hearing for an agreement up to $1,897,870.00 to the Del Mar College
Foundation, Inc. for the equipment needed for five different programs for
enhanced skills training.
President Olivarri referred to Item 3. Compliance Officer for the Corpus Christi
Regional Economic Development Corporation Randy Almaguer stated this item was
presented and passed at the previous meeting, however, the item did require a public
hearing which has been added to this agenda.
President Olivarri opened the public hearing.
There were no comments from the public.
President Olivarri closed public hearing
Mr. Tamez made a motion to approve Item 3, seconded by Ms. Summers, and
passed unanimously.
1. PRESENTATION ITEMS:
J. EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR COMMENTS:
President Olivarri referred to the Executive Director comments. City Manager Peter
Zanoni thanked Ms. Olivarri and Mr. Tamez for their service on the boards and named
a few projects that were accomplished during their term on the board.
Ms. Olivarri and Mr. Tamez said a few words and thanked staff and fellow board
members.
K. ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business, President Olivarri adjourned the meeting at 1:49
p.m.
