The mission of the Business & Job Development (Type A) and B Corporations is to
promote and enhance the City of Corpus Christi's economic base by supporting
projects and programs that create primary jobs, improve small business and affordable
housing opportunities, and improve infrastructure in our City.
A. Vice President Alan Wilson to call the meeting to order.
Vice -President Alan Wilson called the meeting to order at 2:07 p.m.
B. Call Roll:
City Secretary Rebecca Huerta called the roll and verified that a quorum of the Board
was present to conduct the meeting.
Present: 7 - Secretary Diana Summers, Vice -President Alan Wilson, Board Member Jesus Jimenez,
Board Member Mark LaRue, Board Member Vishnu Reddy, Board Member Johnny
Philipello and Board Member Victoria Holland
C. PUBLIC COMMENT:
President Wilson referred to Public Comment. There were no comments from the public.
D. MINUTES / EXCUSE ABSENCES
1. 24-1559 Approval of Minutes for the Type A Board July 15, 2024 Regular Meeting and
August 19, 2024 Special Meeting.
Vice President Wilson referred to Item 1. Ms. Summers made a motion to approve the
minutes as presented, seconded by Dr. Reddy, and passed unanimously.
E. FINANCIAL REPORT

the financial reports as of July 31, 2024.
Ms. Summers requested an update on what was driving the decrease in April and
decrease for July.
F. EXECUTIVE SESSION ITEMS:
G. AGENDA ITEMS:
3. 24-1757 Election of Officers for a term ending September 30, 2024
Vice -President Wilson referred to Item 3. Ms. Summers made a motion to elect the same
slate of officers as Type B Board, seconded by Ms. Holland and passed unanimously.
4. 24-1745 Motion to approve a project in an amount not to exceed $137,260 for
improvements to Whataburger Field with funding available in FY 2025 from the
Type A Business and Job Development Fund.
President Wilson referred to Item 4. Corpus Christi Hooks General Manager Brady
Ballard presented a project for improvements to Whataburger Field.
Mr. Ballard presented the following projects: Netting Extension; Concrete Repairs;
VideoBoard Steel Repairs; ScoreBoard Steel Repairs; Stadium Seat Replacement.
Board Members and Mr. Ballard discussed the following: whether any of the projects
improvements help with the Player Development League (PDL) point system; and
whether there is an engineering report for the projects.
Mr. Philipello made a motion to approve item 4, seconded by Ms. Summers, and passed
unanimously.
I. PRESENTATION ITEMS:
J. EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR COMMENTS:
President Wilson referred to the Executive Director comments. City Manager Peter
Zanoni congratulated the new board members and is looking forward in working with
them.
K. ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business, President Wilson adjourned the meeting at 2:21 p.m.
This meeting may be held via videoconference call pursuant to Texas Government Code § 551.127. If this meeting is held via
videoconference call or other remote method of meeting, then a member of this governmental body presiding over this
meeting will be physically present at the location of this meeting unless this meeting is held pursuant to Texas Government
Code § 551.125 due to an emergency or other public necessity pursuant to Texas Government Code § 551.045.
