CALL TO ORDER/ROLL CALL:

Vice Chairman Pruitt called the meeting to order at 4:31 pm and a quorum was established with
Chairman Mendez and Commissioners Forrester, Riggle, and Wilson absent.
PUBLIC COMMENT: None.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES: September 26, 2024.
A motion was made by Commissioner Landreth to approve the minutes as presented by staff
and seconded by Commissioner Forrester. The Vote: All Aye. The motion passed.
APPROVAL OF ABSENCES: September 26, 2024: Chairman Mendez and Commissioner
Forrester.
A motion was made by Commissioner Wanzer to approve the absence of Chairman Mendez
and Commissioner Forrester, seconded by Commissioner McLaughlin. The Vote: All Aye. The
motion passed.
Cheryl Votzmeyuer-Rios presented an update on The Ritz Theater.
HISTORIC PRESERVATION OFFICER REPORT: Robert Kurtz discussed the following items:
1. Cleaning of landmark Signs: photos of how clean the Landmark signs are were presented.
2. 40t' Anniversary of Heritage Park: discussed the official name of Heritage Park, the official name,
(1984) but was originally known as the Bayfront Arts and Science Park, which is now known as
the Sea District. Celebrating the 40' anniversary of Heritage Park is convoluted.
3. Application for local designation: working on Local designation applications and Certificate of
Appropriateness.
4. 3001 Morgan (October 16): The end of the one-year stay was October 16. The historic overlay
was removed and it can be demolished.
5. Merriman-Boby House repairs: repairs were done to the deck in preparation for the Jazz Festival,
but not done to historic preservation processes. (tongue and groove).-
6. Cayo del Oso: At the state board meeting, it passed for the architectural site; it's an honorary
issue.
Chairman Mendez has resigned from the Landmark Commission. Commissioner Forrester did not
reapply. Commissioners and staff wish both the best of luck in their future endeavors.
