BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. The City Council authorizes submission by the City Manager, or his designee ("City Manager") of four grant applications by the City of Corpus Christi ("City") to the Texas Department of Emergency Management under the Hazard Mitigation Grant Program ("HMGP")—Hurricane Beryl for funds totaling $918,061.97, with a required cost share of $306,020.65, to purchase hazard mitigation equipment for the Development Services Department, Fire Department, Police Department, and Corpus Christi Water. Applications will be made for each of the departments, in the order they appear in this Section 1, in the following grant amounts: $24,992.87, $262,500.00, $418,274.06, and $212,295.04. SECTION 2. Each grant application requires a 25% cash cost share to accompany each department's associated funding request, with such funds to be provided from the operating budget of each respective department. SECTION 3. The Mayor is authorized to certify each grant application, and the City Manager is authorized to issue any letters of commitment necessary to secure this grant funding and may apply for, accept, reject, alter, or terminate one or more of the grants if awarded to the City. SECTION 4. The City Council designates the Director of Finance & Procurement as the City's authorized official. The authorized official is empowered to apply for, accept, reject, alter, or terminate one or more of the grants and its/their funding, execute all necessary documents, and administer the grants on behalf of the City as the applicant agency. SECTION 5. In the event of the loss or misuse of any of these HMGP—Hurricane Beryl funds, the City assures that the grant funds will be returned to the Texas Department of Emergency Management in full.
