A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE MAYOR OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI TO EXECUTE AND ACCEPT THE PROPOSAL OF THE ATLANTIC, GULF & PACIFIC COMPANY OF TEXAS IN REMOVING A PORTION OF THE THIRTY-SIX INCH SEWER CROSSING THE INDUSTRIAL CHANNEL, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS C=?RISTI: SECTION 1: That the Mayor of said City of Corpus Christi be, and he is hereby authorized and directed to execute and accept the Proposal of the Atlantic, Gulf & Pacific Company of Texas, a copy of which Proposal is as follows, to -wit: Houston, Texas November 30, 1937 The Honorable Mayor & City Commissioners Corpus Christi, Texas Gentlemen: We submit to you the following proposal for the removal and disposal on the bank, near the site of the sewer, of that portion of the 361I sewer crossing the industrial channel that is in the way of the proposed dredging for the General American Tr nsportation Corpor- ation. We will rent you our floatinrg derrick #37 for $50.00 per day of eight hours. This includes our furnishing one operator per shift and the fuel and lubricatinu oil. We will furnish all other labor, material and tools, including a diver and his equipment, at cost, plus ten per cent. This cost will not include supervision other than foremen on the work, but will in- clude compensation insurance. We estimate that this work will take about five days, but we do not in any way bind ourselves to this time limit or to any cost limit. Full payment for the performance of these obligations on our part shall be made by you within ten days after completion of work. We are not to be responsible for any damage to the pipe and equipment removed nor to that remaining in place. ACCEPTED: SECTION 2: The public importance of this Resolution creates a public emergency and a public imperative necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter Rule providing that no Ordinance or Resolution shall be passed finally on the date it is introduced, and that such Ordinance or Resolution shall be read at three meetings of the City Council, and that the Mayor having declared that such public emergency and imperative necessity exists., and requests that said Charter Rule be suspended, and that this Resolution take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, and IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, PASSED AND APPROVED, THIS 30th day of November, A. City Attorney Corpus Christi, Texas November 30, 1937 TO THE MEMBERS OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI Corpus pristi, Texas Gentlemen: For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the foregoing Resolution, a public emergency and an imperative public necessity exists for the suspension of the Charter Rule or requirement that no Ordinance or Resolution shall be passed finally on the date it is introduced, and that such Ordinance or Resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, I, therefore, hereby request that you suspend said Charter Rule or requirement and pass this Resolution finally on the date it in introduced, or at the present meeting of the City Council.
