AND DE C LAR ING AN EMERGENCY.' WHEREAS, certain delinquent taxes appear on the Delinquent Tax Rolls of the City of Corpus C hristi; and, WHEREAS, for various legal and valid reasons, such taxes should not be carried on the Delinquent Tax Rolls as delinquent taxes of the City of Corpus Christi: THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL Or THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI: SECTION 1: That the delinquent taxes appearing on the Delinquent Tax Rolls, as set out in itemized form attached hereto with the reasons set out therein, be charged off and no longer carried as delinquent taxes on the Delinquent Tax Rolls of the City of Corpus Christi, such itemized list and statement being attached hereto and made a part hereof, to -wit: • 53 Delinquent Tax charged off of the City of Corpus Christi Delinquent Tax Rolls for the years of 1919 to 1936 inclusive. C%1-\ C4 CorpUSChrfOiJ Reso u -i e Bredt Or I r on(y;S R) pcsi.s.5 I3 SECTION S: The fact that certain'delinquent taxes bei g¢erried on the Delinquent Tax Rolls of the City of Corpus Christi create a confusion to the Assessor and Collector of the City of Uorpus Christi in ascertaining and attempting to collect the delinquent taxes of the City of Corpus Christi creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity exists for the suspension of the Charter Rule providing that no Ordinance or Resolution shall be passed finally on the date it is introduced, unless declared to be a public emergency Ordinance by the Mayor, and the Mayor having in writing declared that said Charter Rule be suspended, and this Ordinance finally be passed on the date it is intro- duced, and take effect from and after its passage and approval ori the date of its introduction IT IS SO ORDAINED. TO THE MEMBERS OF THE CITY COUNCIL Corpus Christi, Texas Gentlemen: For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the foregoing Ordinance, a public emergency and imperative public necessity exists for the suspension of the Charter rule requiring that no Ordinance or Resolution be passed finally on the date of its introduction, and that such Ordinance'or Resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, I, therefore, hereby request that you suspend said Charter rule or requirement, and pass said Ordinance on the date of its introduction, or at the present meeting of the City Council.
