A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE MAYOR
OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI TO EXECUTE THE
ACCEPTANCE OF THE PROPOSAL OF THE GAMEViELL COMPANY
FOR THE FURNISHING OF FIRE ALARM EQUIPMENT TO THE CITY
OF CORPUS CHRISTI; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI:
SECTION 1: That the Mayor of said City of Corpus Christi be, and he is hereby
authorized and directed to execute the acceptance of the.proposal of the Gamewell Company
for the furnishing of fire alarm equipment to the City of Corpus Christi, a copy of which
proposal is attached hereto and reads as follows, to -wit:
December 29, 1937.

VJe hereby propose and agree to furnish the City of
equipment as itemized below:
5 - Latest type Peerless Three -Fold Fire Alarm Boxes 0 $125.
5 - Special Ezymount Box Brackets for mounting boxes
5 - Mica Pipe Insulators
5 - New Standard Copperweld Ground Rod Assemblies
Freight on above not to exceed -

We propose to deliver this equipment within thirty (30) days after acceptance
of this proposal and receipt of individual signal numbers for the boxes, for the total sum
of Six Hundred Seventy ($670.00) Dollars, upon the following terms of payment:
25g of contract price
25% of contract•price
equipment,
25% of contract price to be paid two hundred seventy days after delivery of
equipment, and the balance
250 of contract price to be paid three hundred sixty days after date of
delivery of equipment.
It is understood and agreed that no interest is to be charged on the
deferred payments.

SECTION 2: The public importance of this Resolution creates a public emergency
and a public imperative nedessity requiring the suspension of the Charter Rule providing
that no Ordinance or Resolution shall be passed finally on the date it is introduced, and
that such Ordinance or Resolution shall be read at three meetings of the City Council, and
that the Mayor having declared that such public emergency and imperative necessity exists,
and requests that said Charter Rule be suspended, and that this Resolution take effect and
be in full force and effect from and after its passage, and IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO
ORDAINED.

Gentlemen:
For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the foregoing Resolution,
a public emergency and an imperative public necessity exists for the suspension of the
Charter Rule or requirement that no Ordinance or Resolution shall be passed finally on the
date it is introduced, and that such Ordinance or Resolution shall be read at three several
meetings of the City Council, I, therefore, hereby request that you suspend said Charter Rule
or requirement and pass this Resolution finally on the date it is introduced, or at the
present meeting of the City Council.
