HomeMy WebLinkAbout033681 ORD - 07/15/2025Ordinance accepting a grant from the Executive Office of the President, Office of National Drug Control Policy in the amount of $41,800.00 for the FY 2025 Texas Coastal Corridor High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area Initiative (HIDTA) grant to fund overtime for two sworn officers and lease payments on two vehicles; designating the Chief of Police as the authorized official; appropriating $41,800.00 in the Police Grants Fund. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the award of $41,800.00 for the FY 2025 Texas Coastal Corridor High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area Initiative, HIDTA Grant HID0925G0512-00, is hereby accepted and appropriated into the Police Grants Fund. SECTION 2. The City Manager, or his designee ("City Manager"), is authorized to execute all documents necessary to accept the funding indicated in Section 1 of this ordinance. SECTION 4. The City Manager, or designee, may reject or terminate this grant. Furthermore, the City Manager, or designee, is authorized to execute contract amendments pertaining to these grant funds in the following instances: a) for the carry- over of funds, when ascertained and approved by the funding agency through a revised notice of award; b) a no -cost extension; c) when an amendment will provide supplemental grant funds in an amount not to exceed 20% of the original grant amount; d) for reimbursement increases of administration funds for each participant served; e) to comply with applicable State or federal laws and regulations; and f) for matters which do not change the essential purpose of the grant. SECTION 2. That the Chief of Police is designated as the Authorized Official to execute all documents necessary to accept a grant from the Executive Office of the President, Office of National Drug Control Policy for the FY 2025 HIDTA grant program to support overtime pay for two sworn officers and lease payments on two vehicles. SECTION 4. In the event of the loss or misuse of these funds, the City of Corpus Christi assures that the funds will be returned to the Executive Office of the President, Office of National Drug Control Policy in full.
