HomeMy WebLinkAbout033804 ORD - 11/18/2025Ordinance authorizing acceptance of grant funds from the State of Texas, Criminal Justice Division, under the FY 2026 Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant Program in the amount of $31,030.00 for the purchase of five additional Panasonic in -car video systems for the Corpus Christi Police Department; and appropriating $31,030.00 into the Police Grants Fund. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. Funding in the amount of $31,030.00 is accepted by the City of Corpus Christi ("City") from the State of Texas, Criminal Justice Division, under the FY 2026 Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant Program. Funding in the amount of $31,030.00 is appropriated into the Police Grants Fund. SECTION 2. The grant amount of $31,030.00 is for the purchase of five additional Panasonic in -car video systems for the Corpus Christi Police Department. SECTION 3. The City Manager, or designee, may reject or terminate this grant. Furthermore, the City Manager, or designee, is authorized to execute contract amendments pertaining to these grant funds in the following instances: a) for the carry- over of funds, when ascertained and approved by the funding agency through a revised notice of award; b) a no -cost extension; c) when an amendment will provide supplemental grant funds in an amount not to exceed 20% of the original grant amount; d) for reimbursement increases of administration funds for each participant served; e) to comply with applicable State or federal laws and regulations; and f) for matters which do not change the essential purpose of the grant. SECTION 4. The Chief of Police is designated as the City's authorized official to administer this grant. The authorized official is empowered to apply for, accept, reject or terminate the grant and its funding, execute all necessary documents, and administer the grant on behalf of the City as the applicant agency. SECTION 5. In the event of the loss or misuse of these State of Texas funds, the City of Corpus Christi assures that the funds will be returned to the State of Texas, Criminal Justice Division, in full.
