AN ORDINANCE by the City Council of the
City of Corpus Christi, Texas requesting financial assistance from the Texas Water
Development Board; authorizing the filing of an application for assistance; and making certain findings in
connection therewith.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE City Council OF
THE City of Corpus Christi, Texas
SECTION 1: That an application is hereby approved and authorized to be filed with the Texas Water
Development Board seeking financial assistance in an amount not to exceed $30,000,000.00 to provide
for the costs of Nueces River Ground Water Wells as identified in Sec. 17.18 (30) of S.B. 1 General Appropriations
Act (89th Legislature) .
SECTION 2: That the City Manager, the Interim Chief Operating Officer, Director of Engineering
Services, the Director of Finance & Procurement and their designees be and each is hereby designated the
authorized representative of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas for purposes of furnishing such
information and executing such documents as may be required in connection with the preparation and filing of such
application for financial assistance and the rules of the Texas Water Development Board.
SECTION 3: That the following firms and individuals are hereby authorized and directed to aid and assist
in the preparation and submission of such application and appear on behalf of and represent the City of Corpus
Christi, Texas before any hearing held by the Texas Water
Development Board on such application, to wit:

SECTION 4. That the City Manager, the Interim Chief Operating Officer, the Director of Engineering
Services, the Director of Finance & Procurement, and their designees, are each authorized to execute all documents
necessary to accept and administer the funds on behalf of the City as the applicant agency.
SECTION 5. That the funds will be appropriated in the 1052 Water Grants Fund. The Fiscal Year 2025-
2026 Operating Budget adopted by Ordinance 033730 is amended to increase revenues and expenditures by
$30,000,000.00 for the Nueces River Ground Water Wells projects.

I, the Director of the Finance & Procurement Department of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas (or his/her
duly authorized representative), hereby certify to the City Council and other appropriate officers that the
money required for the current fiscal year's portion of the contract, agreement, obligation or
expenditure described above is in the Treasury to the credit of the Fund specified above, from which it is
to be drawn, and has not been appropriated for any other purpose. Future payments are subject to
annual appropriation by the City Council.
