$83,250.00 to the State of Texas under the Criminal Justice Grant
Program for funding for the purchase of 10 replacement in -car video
systems for the Corpus Christi Police Department.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Corpus Christi finds that it is in the best interest
of the citizens of Corpus Christi, Texas that the Criminal Justice Grant Program be operated for
the fiscal year 2026-27;
WHEREAS, the City Council agrees that in the event of loss or misuse of the Office of the
Governor funds, the City of Corpus Christi assures that the funds will be returned to the Office of
the Governor in full.
WHEREAS, the City Council designates Mike Markle, Chief of Police for the City of Corpus
Christi as the grantee's authorized official. The authorized official is given the power to apply for,
accept, reject, alter or terminate the grant on behalf of the applicant agency.
WHEREAS, the City Council designates Sergio Villasana, Director of Finance &
Procurement, as the grantee's financial officer. The financial officer is given the power to submit
financial and/or programmatic reports or alter a grant on behalf of the applicant agency.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1. The City Council approves submission of the grant application for
$83,250.00 to the State of Texas under the Criminal Justice Grant Program for funding for the
purchase of 10 replacement in -car video systems for the Corpus Christi Police Department.
SECTION 2. The City Council designates the Chief of Police, Mike Markle, as the grantee's
authorized official. The authorized official may apply for, accept, reject, alter, or terminate the grant.
SECTION 3. The City Council designates Sergio Villasana, Director of Finance & Procurement, as
the grantee's financial officer. The financial officer is given the power to submit financial and/or
programmatic reports or alter a grant on behalf of the applicant agency.
SECTION 4. In the event of loss or misuse of the Office of the Governor funds, the City of Corpus
Christi assures that the funds will be returned to the Office of the Governor in full.

expenditure described above is in the Treasury to the credit of the Fund specified above, from which it is
to be drawn, and has not been appropriated for any other purpose. Future payments are subject to
