Inner Harbor Seawater Desalination Treatment Plant Project with
Corpus Christi Desal Partners, a joint venture of Acciona Agua
Corporation and MasTec Industrial Corporation
WHEREAS, in accordance with Chapter 2269 of the Texas Government Code, the
City is procuring a design -build contractor for the Inner Harbor Seawater Desalination
Treatment Plant;
WHEREAS, the City evaluated the Statement of Qualifications submitted in
response to the Request for Qualifications and requested Proposals from the following
design -build firms:
Corpus Christi Desal Partners, a Joint Venture of Acciona Agua
Corporation and MasTec Industrial;
Corpus Christi Desalination Team, a Joint Venture of CDM
Constructors, Inc. and PLW Waterworks, LLC;
Kiewit Infrastructure South Co.
WHEREAS, the City was unable to negotiate a satisfactory contract for design of
the Project with the highest -ranked firm (Kiewit) and, formally and in writing, ended all
negotiations with Kiewit;
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1. The City Manager or designee is authorized to negotiate a contract for the
Inner Harbor Seawater Desalination Treatment Plant Project with Corpus Christi Desal
Partners.
SECTION 2. The Inner Harbor Seawater Desalination Treatment Plant will provide a
new water source for the City of Corpus Christi and all of its customers, including both
treated water customers and raw water customers. Accordingly, all costs for the
Inner Harbor Seawater Desalination Treatment Plant are chargeable and attributable
to raw water.
