Security, Federal Emergency Management Agency, for the FY 2024 &
2025 Building Resilient Infrastructure and Communities grant program
for funding in the amount of $2,017,500.00 for the South Bay Park
Erosion & Flood Mitigation Project with a cash match of
$672,500.00 and $295,900.00 for engineering services that will be
funded by the Type B Corporation.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1. The City Council authorizes submission of a grant application by the City of
Corpus Christi (City) to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Federal Emergency
Management Agency, for the FY 2024 & 2025 Building Resilient Infrastructure and
Communities (BRIC) grant program for funding of $2,017,500.00 for the South Bay Park
Erosion & Flood Mitigation Project for the Parks & Recreation Department.
SECTION 2. If awarded, there is a cash match requirement of $672,500.00 and
$295,900.00 for engineering services that will be funded by the Type B Corporation.
SECTION 3. The City Council designates the Director of Parks & Recreation as the City's
authorized official. The authorized official is empowered to apply for, accept, reject, alter,
or terminate the grant and its funding, execute all necessary documents, and administer
the grant on behalf of the City as the applicant agency.
SECTION 4. In the event of the loss or misuse of these BRIC grant funds, the City assures
that the funds will be returned to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Federal
Emergency Management Agency, in full.
SECTION 5. The City Council authorizes the B Corporation's program project for up to a total
of $968,400.00 from the Corpus Christi B Corporation Economic Development Fund for the
South Bay Park Erosion and Flood Mitigation Program Project with the City of Corpus Christi
(Parks and Recreation Department); including a cap of the Interdepartment Services fees at
11% of the costs, not to exceed $295,900.00.

I, the Director of the Finance & Procurement of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas (or his/her duly

money required for the current fiscal year's portion of the contract, agreement, obligation or
expenditure described above is in the Treasury to the credit of the Fund specified above, from which it is
to be drawn, and has not been appropriated for any other purpose. Future payments are subject to
annual appropriation by the City Council.
