by the Art Community Center of Corpus Christi, Inc.
WHEREAS, in 2019, City Council approved a 20-year lease agreement with the Art
Community Center of Corpus Christi, Inc. (Art Center) to continue operation of the Art
Community Center at no charge;
WHERAS, the lease requires the Art Center to develop a Capital Improvement
Program for the Art Community Center at its own expense;
WHEREAS, in 2023, the lease was amended to expand the footprint of the Art
Community Center, to extend the current leased premises from Cooper's Alley to Lomax
Street to construct additional facilities that will provide art and clay studios for youth and
adult educational classes, amended the capital improvements timeline, and turned over
the maintenance of the parking Tots, landscaping, and new facilities to the Art Center at
the start of the new facilities construction; and
WHEREAS, the Art Center will secure funding of $3,800,000 and is seeking City
Council approval of its Capital Improvement Program.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS:
City Council approves the Art Center's Capital Improvement Program submitted by the
Art Community Center, Inc. for improvements to the Art Community Center.
