Municipal Court Judges of the City of Corpus Christi beginning in Fiscal
Year 2027; providing that all other terms of their appointments remain
unchanged; and providing an effective date.
WHEREAS, the City Council appoints the judges of the Municipal Court of
Record pursuant to Texas Government Code § 30.00006, City Charter Article II, Section
26, and Corpus Christi Code Section 29-4; and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to increase the compensation of the
Presiding Judge and Municipal Court Judges.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. Effective October 1, 2026, the annual salary of the Presiding Judge,
Jacqueline Del Llano Chapa, is established at $175,740.17.
SECTION 2. Effective October 1, 2026„ the annual salaries of the full-time Municipal
Court Judges are established as follows:
Gabriel Rodriguez, Division 1 — $132,380.88
Jason Supplee, Division 2 — $132,380.88
David Walsh, Division 3 — $133,691.58
William Gregory "Bill" Bonilla, Division 4 — $133,691.58
George Picha, Division 5 — $133,691.58
SECTION 3. Effective October 1, 2026, the hourly rate of compensation for each part-
time Municipal Court Judge is established at $54.16 per hour.
SECTION 4. Except for the compensation established by this ordinance, the
appointments, terms of office, and other provisions applicable to the Presiding Judge
and Municipal Court Judges remain unchanged.
SECTION 5. This ordinance takes effect on October 1, 2026.
