City Manager Whitney presented a letter received from Jake Jarmon, attorney

that it is understood that this precludes the billboard type of sign. Mr. Whitney
presented a picture of the sign, stating he believed it was twenty-five feet long
and three feet high, except for the circle on the end of the sign, and that it would
appear that the applicant was asking for in the neighborhood of seventy-nine or
eighty square feet, and that City Secretary kring has asked Mr. Jarmon to ascertain
from his client the exact area of the proposed sign.
Motion by Blackmon, seconded by Sizemore that the change of zoning be denied,
but that in lieu a special permit be granted for a single free-standing sign not to
exceed eighty square feet.
Commissioner McDaniel suggested that the applicant be given a little leecaay
to accommodate the standard sign, and that the motion be amended to allow up to
eighty-five to ninety feet.
Motion by Blackmon, seconded by Sizemore and passed that the change of ton-
ing be denied, but that in lieu a special permit be granted for a single free-stand-
