CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS
SPECIAL COUNCIL MEETING
June 22, 1966
8:00 a.m.

Mayor McIver Furman called the meeting to order and announced the
purpose of the special meeting for the opening of bide on Annual Supply Contracts
for approximately forty-four items required by the various Divisions of the City,
and such other business as may properly come before the Council.
Purchasing Agent Jack Ponton opened and read bids from various firms
on the following items required by the various Divisions of the City: Radio Tubes;
Anodes, Blueprint Service; Oxygen & Acetylene; Janitorial Supply Items; Custodial
Service; Printing Papers & Stationery Store Items; Polyethylene Plastic; Com-
mercial Fertilizer; Bermuda Grass Seed; Water & Sevage Treating Chemicals; Lime
Slurry; Linen & Towel Service; Fuel, Oil, Grease & Anti -Freeze; Sparkplugs, Oil &
Filters; Tires, Tubes & Tire Recapping; Automotive & Flashlight Batteries; Manila
& Wire Rope, Chains, Clamps & Hooks; Hand and Garden Tools; Malleable Fittings, Bladk
& Galvanized; Lubricated Plug Valves; Brass and Iron Service Fittings; Pipe Repair
Clamps, Couplings & Adapters; Mechanical Joint Gate Valves; C. I. Tapping Sleeves
& Valves; M.J., CI, Or DI Fittings; C.I., Ductile Iron, and/or Asbestos Cement
Pipe; Fire Hydrants; Foundry & Cast Concrete Items; Sewer Tile & Fittings; Gas &
Water Meters; Gas Regulators; Street Construction Materials; Reinforced Concrete
Pipe; Ready -Mix Concrete; Bricks; Bag Portland Cement; Street Sign. Blanks; Street
Marking Materials; Street Sweeper Broom Material; Tabulating Machine Cards; Police-
men's Uniforms; Firemen's Uniforms; and PipelinePrimer, Enamel &Felt.
All the foregoing bids which were opened and read were tabled for forty-
eight hours as required by City Charter, and referred to the City Manager for tabu-
lation and recommendation.
There being no further business to come before the Council, the special
meeting was adjourned.
