MINUTES
CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS
SPECIAL COUNCIL MEETING
June 27, 1966
8:45 P.M.

Mayor McIver Furman called the meeting to order.
City Secretary T. Ray Kring called the roll of those in attendance.
Mayor Furman announced the, purpose of the special meeting for the purpose
of authorizing the City Manager to execute an agreement with the State Health De-
partment and such other matters as may properly come before the City Council.
City Secretary Kring read the following ordinances:
ORDINANCE N0. 8071
AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE, FOR AND ON BEHALF OF THE CITY
OF CORPUS CHRISTI, AND THE DIRECTOR OF THE CORPUS CHRISTI-NUECES COUNTY HEALTH DE-
PARTMENT, FOR THAT DEPARTMENT, AN AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE TEXAS STATE DEPARTMENT OF
HEALTH, AS THE STATE AGENCY, AND CORPUS CHRISTI-NUECES COUNTY HEALTH DEPARTMENT, AS
THE PERFORMING AGENCY, UNDER PUBLIC LAW 89-97 INVOLVING lux ADVANCEMENT OF FEDERAL
FUNDS FOR THE PURPOSE OF ASSISTING LOCAL CITY -COUNTY HEALTH DEPARTMENTS TO DEVELOP,
IMPROVE AND EXPAND ''DU: CAPACITY OF NEW OR OF EXISTING PUBLIC OR PRIVATE HOME HEALTH
AGENCIES WHICH MEET THE QUALIFYING CONDITIONS FOR PARTICIPATION IN THE HEALTH IN-
SURANCE PROGRAM, ALL AS PROVIDED IN SAID AGREEMENT, A COPY OF WHICH IS ATTACHED
HERETO AND MADE A PART HEREOF; RATIFYING THE EXECUTION OF SUCH AGREEMENT HERETOFORE
EXECUTED BY SAID CITY MANAGER AND SAID DIRECTOR; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
The Charter rule was suspended and the foregoing ordinance was passed by
the following vote: Furman, Dunne, Jimenez, McDaniel, Sizemore and Wallace,
present and voting "Aye," Jimenez absent.
ORDINANCE NO. 8072
RATIFYING AND APPROVING THE MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING AND CLARIFICATION BETWEEN
THE FOUNDATION FOR SCIENCES AND ARTS, INC., AND THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, PER-
TAINING TO RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN SAID PARTIES AS TO THE ESTABLISHMENT OF THE PUBLIC
PARK ON THE BAYFRONT PORTION OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI HERETOFORE EXECUTED BY
THE CITY MANAGER DATED JUNE 27, 1966, A COPY OF WHICH IS ATTACHED HERETO AND MADE
A PART HEREOF; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
The Charter rule was suspended and the foregoing ordinance was passed by
the following vote: Furman, Dunne, Jimenez, McDaniel, Sizemore and Wallace,
present and voting "Aye," Jimenez absent.
There being no further business to come before the Council the meeting
was adjourned,

NOTICE OF SPECIAL MEETING
TO T E MEMBERS OF TNF CITY COUNCIL, THE CITY MANAGER, THE CITY SECRETARY
AND THE CITY ATTORNEY TO THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS:
NOTICE is hereby given that a special meeting of the City Council of the
City of Corpus Christi, Texas, will be held in the City of Corpus Christi, Texas,
in the Council Chamber of the City Hall, at o'clock, P. M., on the 27th
day of June , 1966 , for the purpose of authorizing the City Manager to
execute an agreement with the State Health, Department and such other matters as may properly
come before the City Council.

CONSENT TO MEETING
We, the undersigned members of the City Council, the City Manager, the
City Secretary and the City Attorney to the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, hereby
accept service of the foregoing notice, waiving any and all irregularities in such
service and consent and agree that said meeting shall be at the time and place there-
in named and for the purpose therein stated.
