SPECIAL COUNCIL MEETING
June 28, 1967

Mayor Pro Tem Sizemore called the meeting to order and announced the
purpose of the special meeting for the opening of bids on Annual Supply Contracts
for approximately fourty-six items required by the various Divisions of the City,
and such other business as may properly come before the Council.
Purchasing Agent Jack Porton opened and read bids from various firms on
the following items required by the various Divisions of the City: Anodes;
Automotive and Flashlight Batteries; Bag Portland Cement; Bermuda Grass Seed; Blue-
print Service; Brass and Iron Service Fittings; Bricks; Bulk Portland Cement;
Cast Iron, Ductile Iron and/or Asbestos Cement Pipe; Cast Iron Tapping Sleeves and
Va],ves; Commercial Fertilizer; Custodial Services; Firemen's Uniforms; Foundry and
Cast Concrete Items; Fuel, Motor Oil and Grease; Gas and Water Meters; Gas Regulators
(housetype);.Hand and Garden Tools; Janitorial Supply Items; Lime Slurry; Linen and
Towel Service; Lubricated Plug Valves; Lumber and Survey Stakes; Malleable Fittings,
Black and Galvanized; Manila and Wire Rope, Chains, Clamps and Hooks; Mechanical
Joint Cast Iron Fittings; Mechanical Joint Gate Valves; Oxygen and Acetylene;
Pest Control Services; Pipe Repair Clamps, Couplings and Adapters; Pipeline Primer,
Enamel and Felt; Policemen's and Bus Drivers Uniforms; Polyethylene Plastic; Print-
ing Papers and Stationery Store Items; Radio Tube; Ready -Mix Concrete; Reinforced
Concrete Pipe; Sewer Tile and Fittings; Sparkplugs, Oil and Fuel Filters; Street
Construction Materials; Street Marking Materials; Street Sign Blanks; Street
Sweeper Broom Materials; Tabulating Machine Cards; Tires, Tubes and Tire Recapping;
and Water and Sewage Treating Chemicals.
All the foregoing bids which were opened and read were tabled for 48
hours as required by the City Charter, and referred to the City Manager for tabu-
lation and recommendation.
There being no further business to come before the Council, the special
meeting was adjourned.
