Motion authorizing the City Manager to employ the law firm of Canales &
Simonson, P.C. to provide legal representation in Cause No. C 04-274, Michael
Barnes, et al v. City of Corpus Christi, et al, in the United States District Court,
Southern District of Texas, Corpus Christi Division, at an houdy rate not
exceeding $185.00, plus expenses, subject to certification of funds.

1. the Director of Financial Services of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas (or his/her duly authorized
representanve), hereby certify to the City Council and other appropriate officers that the money required for
the current fiscal year's portion of the contract, agreement, obligation or expenditm-e described below is
in the Treasury to the credit of the Fund specified below, from which it is to be drawn, and has not been
appropria~l for any other purpose. Future payments are subject to annual appropriation by the City
Council.
