Blackmon Mayor Pro Tem Gabe Lozano, Sr. Commissioners: Dick Bradley, Jr. Eduardo E. de Ases Ken McDaniel W. J. Roberts Ronnie Sizemore City Manager R. Marvin Townsend City Attorney Jim Riggs City Secretary T. Ray Kring Mayor Blackmon called the meeting to order and announced that the purpose was to discuss the Text Amendments to the Zoning Ordinance which were scheduled for public hearing March 29. City Manager Townsend pointed out the changes proposed and general approval was indicated. Motion by Roberts, seconded by Lozano and passed, that the hearing be closed. Motion by Lozano, seconded by Roberts and passed, that the Amendments be adopted as presented and an ordinance be brought forward effectuating the change. Several pending zoning cases were reviewed and approved for ordinances to be voted on at the Regular Meeting. Application #371-3, Robert Callaway - Motion by Roberts, seconded by Bradley that Tract A be zoned "B-4" as recommended by the Staff, that Tract B be zoned "A-1", and Tract C be zoned "R-2". Five votes were cast for Tract A, Commissioners Lozano, Sizemore, and de Ases "Nay" on Tract B and C, and Commissioner McDaniel abstained stating that he owned property in the area and felt that he should not vote on the decision. A brief discussion ensued and it was concluded that the applicant would be at a disadvantage to be given only a part of the zoning requested. . Motion by de Ases, seconded by Roberts with Sizemore voting "Nay", that the entire application be denied, permitting the applicant to begin anew at some later date. The resignation of Robert Sullivan, Clerk of the Municipal Court, was accepted with regrets and it was agreed that Estela Tijerina would be appointed as Interim Clerk of the Court. The Meeting was officially adjourned.
