CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS
RECESSED COUNCIL MEETING OF JULY 26, 1972
JULY 31, 1972
10:00 A.M.
PRESENT:
Mayor Ronnie Sizemore
Commissioners:
Thomas V. Gonzales
Gabe Lozano, Sr.
J. Howard Stark
City Manager R. Marvin Townsend
City Attorney James R. Riggs
City Secretary T. Ray Kring
Mayor Ronnie Sizemore reconvened the recessed meeting in the Council
Chamber of the City Hall.
City Secretary T. Ray Kring called the roll of those in attendance.
Mayor Sizemore announced that the first item on the agenda was the
adoption of the 1972-73 Budget, on which a public hearing was held July 26,
1972, and tabled for further study. He stated further study is necessary
and called for a motion that the matter be deferred for more consideration.
Motion by Stark, seconded by Gonzales and passed, that adoption of
the 1972-73 Budget be tabled for further consideration at Workshop immediately
following this meeting.
City Manager Townsend stated some of the ordinances appearing on the
agenda were of a controversial nature and recommended that they be presented
following the Workshop meeting when more members of the Council are expected
to be present.
Motion by Stark, seconded by Gonzales and passed, that this recessed
meeting be further recessed to reconvene at a time not later than 12 Noon this
date.
There being no further business to come before the Council at this
time, the meeting was recessed at 10:30 a.m., July 31, 1972.
