AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE MAYOR OF THE CITY OF
CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS, TO EXECUTE, FOR AND ON BE-
HALF OF SAID CITY, A WARRANTY DEED FOR LOT SIXTEEN
(16) BLOCK FOUR (4) EDGEWATER TERRACE, TO JUANITA
CASTRO DE PORTELA. AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY TBE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRIST!,

SECTION 1, `hat the Mayor be, and he is hereby, snthoriaed
and directed to execute, for and on behalf of the City of Corpus
Christi, a warranty deed to Juanita Castro De Portals, a copy
of which deed Is attached hereto and made a part hereof, fcr
lot sixteen (16) bloc? four (4) Edgemater Terrace, and whi_h

corporation, of the County of Tuscea and State of Taxas, for end
in consideration of the stn of Five Hundred Dollars ($500) to it
in hand paid by Juanita Castro de Portal&. of the County of Tucson.
State of Taxes. the roaeipt of which is hereby acknowledged, has
granted, bargained, sold, and convoyed, and by these presents does
grant, bargain, sell, and oon.ey, unto the said Juanita Castro de
Portals. the following described treat or psroel of land, being
situated in Tueces County, Texas, described as follows, to -wltt
Lot Sixteen (16), Block Four (4), Edgewater Terrace,
an addition located in Bosses County. Texas, as shown
by slap or plot of said addition on file in the Office
of the County Clerk of Tasces County, Texas, to which

together with all and singular the rights and appurtenances thereto

SECTION 2. The public importance of this ordinance
due to the fact that the transaction whan consumated 'mould be
to the best interest of the City creates a public emergency and
a public imperative necessity requiring the suspension of the
Charter rule +.hat no ordinance or resolution shall be passed
finally on the data it is introduced, and that such ordinance or
resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City
Ccuncil, and the Mayor, in writing, having declared that such
public emergency and imperative necessity exist, and having re-
quested that such Charter rule be suspended, and that this or-
dillaace be passed finally on the date of its introduction and
take effect and be in full force and effec +, from and after its
passage, IT IS, ACCORDIVGIY, SO CR AIIIIED.

Gentlemen:
For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause
of the foregoing ordinance, a public emergency and an imperative
necessity exist for the suspension of the Charter rule or require-
ment that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on
the date it is introduced, end that such ordinance or resolution
shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council; I,
therefore, hereby request that you suspend said Charter rule or
requirement and peas this ordinance finally on the date it is intro-
duced, or at the present meeting of the City Council.
