SECTICH 1. That from and after the passage of this
ordinance there shall be charged and collected from each domostio
ocneumer of water by the City Waterworks Departm=b a -ff-4 ^*^
charge of One Dollar ($LeOO) per mouth for all domestic consumers
residing within the City limits of the City of Corpus Christi. There
shall be charged and collected from each domestic consumer by the
City Waterwtrks Departmaat a W-4-- charge of Two and Tcenty�flve
one hundreds Dollars ($W5) per month for each domestic consumer
residing outside of the City limits of the City of Corpus Christie
SECTION 2e IDrtil furtbar notice water will be furnished
through motors by the City Watsrworhs Departmsat at the rates herein
published which are to become effective on the adoption_ hereoft that
the City of Corpus Christi reserves the right to increase or diminieh
such rate at any time by amending, altering or correcting the schedule
of rates hereby provided by a majority vote of the City Council.
MOTION 3e Domestic Consumers.
1. At all times, for all domestic consumers within the
City limits of Corpus Christi, except as provided in paragraph 2
of this section.

a) For the first ten thousand (10.000) gallons of water
consumed per month there shall be charged and collected
the sum of thirty -three cents (339) per one thousand
gallons (1000) per month.
b) For the second ten thousand (100000) gallons of water
consumed per month there shall be charged and collected
the,,sum of thirty cents (30pf) per one thousand (1000) gallons
per months
2. During each year, the City Council, by motion carried by majority
vote, may, for any period between April let and October lot of said year,
place in offset the following rates for such period or part thereof as may
be determined by the City Council, for one and two family resident domestic
consumers within the city limits of the City of Corpus Christie
a) For the first fear thousand (11.000) gallons of water
consumed there shall be charged and collected the am
of One Dollar (01,00) per month.
b) For the next six thousand (6,000) gallons of water
consumed over and above four thousand (4,000) gallons
there shall be charged and collected the sum of twenty -two
cents (22A per one thousand (1000) gallons of water per
month,
o) For the next ten thousand (20,000) gallons of water
consumed there shall be charged and collected the sum
of twenty cents (201f) per ans thousand (1000) gallons
of water per month.
d) For all water consumed in excese of twenty thousand
(20,000) gallons per month there shall be charged and
collected the sum of fifteen cents (154 per one thousand
(1000) gallons per mouth.
3. For all domestic consumers of water within the City limits,
except as provided in Sub- seotion 2 of thin Section, sll water consumed
In excess of twenty thousand (200000) gallons shall be charged and collected
at the following retest
200000 to 30aC00 gallons of water per month - 29X per 1000
gallons per month.
30.000 to 4O.00IO gallon, of water per month - 28¢ per 1000
gallons per month.
40.000 to 50.000 gallons of water per month - 27¢ per 1000
gallons per month.
50,000 to 100.000 gallons of water per month - 26.d per 1000
gallons par month.
100,000 to 250.000 gallons of water per month- 2%1 per 1000
gallons per month.

260,000 to 500,000 gallons of water per month - 24¢ per 1000 gallons
per month.
500,000 to 1,000,000 gallons of water par month - 22X per 1000 gallons
per month.
All over 1,000,000 gallons of water per month - 20$ per 1000 gallons
per month.
4. For all domestic consumers of water outside city limits
there shall.be charged and collected the followings
For the first 10,000 gallons of water consumed 60�f per 1000 gallons
per month.
For the second 10400 gallons of water consumed 56& per 1000 gallons
per month.
For the third 10;000 gallons of water consumed 5V per 1000 gallons
per month.
For the fourth 10,000 gallons of water consumed 52jt per 1000 gallons
per month.
For the fifth 10,000 gallons of water consumed • 5v per 1000 gallons
per month.
For the sixth 10,000 gallons of water consumed 4W per 1000 gallons
per month.
For the seventh 10,000 gallons of water consumed 4* per 1000 gallons
per month.
Over 70,000 gallons of water consumed 45g per 1000 gallons
per month.
SECTI011 4. Industrial Consumers.
1. For all industrial consumers of water within the city limits
of the City of Corpus Christi there shall be charged and collected the
followings
e) Industrial concerns consuming one hundred thousand gallons
(100,000) of water par month to two hundred end fifty
thousand (260,000) gallons of water per month shall pay
24d per 1000 gallons,with a minima charge of $24.00.
b) Industrial concerns consuming 250,000 gallons of water per
month to 500,000 gallons of water per month shall pay 20X
per 1000 gallons, with a minimum charge of $60.00.
c) Industrial concerns consuming 500,000 to 1,000,000 gallons
of water per month shall pay 19ge per 3000 gallons with a
minimum charge of 090.00.
d) Industrial ooncorns consuming 1,000,000 gallons of water
per month to L500,000 gallons of water per month shall
pay 10 per 1000 gallons for all water consumed in excess
Of 1,000,000 gallons per month.

o) Industrial, concerns consuming 1,500,000 gallons to 2,000,000
gallons of water per month shall pay 16;e per one thousand (1000)
gallons for all water consumed in excess of 1,600,000 gallons
per .month.
P) Industrial concerns consuming 2,000,000 gallons to 2,600,000
gallons of water per month shell pay 14¢ per one thousand (1000)
gallons for all water oonsumed in axoess of 2,000,000 gallons
per month.
g) Industrial comer" consuming 2,600,000 gallons to 3.ODO OOD
gallons of water per month shall pay 13;e per one thousand (1000)
gallons for all water consumed in excess of 2,500,000 gallons
per month.
h) Industrial concerns consuming 3,000,000 gallons to 6,000,000
gallons of water per month shall pay IV per one thousand (3.000)
gallons for all water oonsumad in excess of 3,000,000 gallons
per month, unless otherwise provided by special oontraot.
i) Industrial concerns consuming 5,000,000 gallons to 7,b00,000
gallons of water per mouth shell pay 9je per one thousand (1000)
gallons for all water consumed in excess of 6,000,000 gallons
per month, unless otherwise provided by special contract.
J) Industrial concerns consuming 7,600,000 gallons to 30,000,OD0
galloaa of water per month shall pay Bje per one thousand (1000)
gallons for all water consumed in excess of 7,500,000 gallons
per month, unless otherwise provided by special contract.
k) Every Industrial concern consuming in excess of 10,000,000 gallons
of water per month shall pay 7a per one thousand (1000) gallons
for all water consumed in excess of 10,000,000 gallons par month,
unless otherwise regulated by WOW contract as provided in Section
b of this Ordinance.
2. For all industrial consumers of water outside the city limits
of the City Of Corpus Christi theca shall be charged and cclleotad the
followings
a) Industrial concerns consuming 100,000 gallons to 250,000 gallons
o£ water per month shall pay 30¢ per 'one thousand (1000) gallons,
with a minimum charge of '30.00.
b) Industrial concerns consuming 250,000 gallons to 500,000 gallons
of water per month shall pqv 26¢ per one thousand (1000) gallons,
with a minimum charge of 852.50.
o) Industrial concerns consuming 600,000 gallons to 1,000,000 gallons
of water per month shall pay 22j' per one thousand (1000) gallons,
with a minimum charge of 8110.00.
d) Industrial concerns consuming 1,000,000 gallons to 1,500,000 gallons
Of water per month shall pay 20¢ per one thousand (10DO) gallons
consumed in excess of 1

e) Industrial concern consuming 1,600,000 gallons to 2,000,000 gallons
of water pea month shell pay 18Q per one thousand (1000) gallons
for all water consumed in excess of 1,500,000 gallons per month.
f) Industrial concerns consuming 2,000,000 gallons to 2,600,000 gallons
of water per month shall pay IVr par one thousand (1000) gallons
for all water consumed in excess of 2,CO0,000 gallons per month.
g) Industrial concerns consuming 2,666,000 gallon to 3,000,000 gallons
of water per month shall pay S6d per one thousand (1000) gallons
for all water consumed In excess of 2,500,000 gallons per month.
h) Industrial concerns consuming 31000,000 gallons to 61 000,000 gallons
of water per month shall .pay IV per one thousand (lODO) gallons
for all water consumed In excess of 3,000,000 gallons per month,
unless otherwise provided by special contract.

i) Industrial concerns consuming 5,000,000 gallons to 7,600,000 gallons
of crater per month shoal pay 12$ per one thousand gallons for all
water consumed in excess of 6,000,060 gallons per month, unless
otherwise provided by spas W contract.
j) Industrial concerns consuming 7,600,000 gallons to 10,000,000 gallons
of water per month shell peg 11je per one thousand (1000) gallons for
all water consumed in excess of 7,600,000 gallons per month, unless
otherwise provided by special contract.
k) Every industrial concern consuming in excess of 10,000,000 gallons
of water per month shell pay 10ji per one thousand (1000) gallons
for all water consumed in excess of 10,000,000 gallons per month,
unless otherwise regulated by special contract as provided in
Section 5 of this Ordinance.
SECTION 5. The rate for industrial conoerns,whether inside or
outside the city limits of the City of Corpus Christi, consuming in excess
of ten million (10,000,000) gallons of water per month may be fixed by
special contract by and between any such industrial consumer and the City
of Corpus Christi by a majority vote of the City Couno it for all of the water
consumed by such consumer, including the first ten million (10,000,000) gallons
consumed per month.
SECTION S. If any section, paragraph, subdivision, clause,
phrase or provision of this Ordinance shall be adjudged invalid or held
unconstitutional, the came shell not affect the validity of this Ordinance
as a whole or ate• part or provision thereof other than the part so decided
to be invalid or unconstitutional.
SECTION 7. That all ordinances, or parts of ordinances, in con-
flint herewith are repealed, and especially repealing Ordinance No. 878,
recorded in Volume 10, Page 233 of the Ordinance end Resolution Records of
the City of Corpus Christi, being passed and approved on Buguat 16, 1938
end OrdSnecoe No. 983, recorded in Volnme 10, Page 481 of the Ordinance
and Resolution Records of the City of Corpus Christi and being passed and
approved on July 25, 1938, and Ordinance No. 1064, recorded in Volims 11,
Page 904 of the Ordinance and Resolution Records of the City of Corpus
Christi, and passed and approved on Mardh 26, 1840, and Ordinance No. 12631
recorded in Volume 12, Page 3 of the Ordinance and Resolution Records of
the City of Corpus Christi, and passed and approved on May 5, 1941.
SECTION 8. The fact that there has been some uncertainty as
to the application of the water rate and that it is dee4 able and beneficial
to fix a uniform rate for consumption of water within the City of Corpus
Christi for all consumers consuming ten million (10,000,000) gallons of
water per month or less and that it is to the interest of the public to
encourage industry by making special contracts with consumers consuming
in excess of ten million (10,000,000) gallons of water per month, and
that the policy and rates be in force end effect immediately, creates a
public emergency and a public imperative necessity requiring the auepension

of the Charter rule providing that no Ordinance or Resolution shall
be passed finally oa the day it ie introduced, and that such Ordinance
or Resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the city Council
and the Mayor having declared that such public emergency and imperative
necessity exists, and requests that said charter rule be suspended. and
that this Ordinance tale affect and be in full force and effect from

Gentlemen,
For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause
of the foregoing ordinance, a public emergency and an imperative
necessity exist for the suspension of the Charter rule or require-
ment that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the
date it is introduoed, mad that such ordinance or resolution shall
hereby request that you suspend said Charter rule of requirement
and pass this ordinance finally on the date it is introduced, or
at the present meeting of the City Council.
