AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING TEE MAYOR AND THE
CITY CONTROLLER OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI
TO ERECUTE FOR AND ON BEHALF OF SAID CITY A
CONTRACT BY AND BETWEEN SAID CITY AND CLAUD
BOATRIGHT FOR THE PURPOSE OF SERVICING AN
ELEVATED WATER TANK LOCATED AT SAM RANEIN
STREET, IN CORPUS CHRISTI, TEAS; FOR A PERIOD
OF TWO YEARS; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY TEE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEKAS2
SECTION 1. That the Mayor and the City Controller of
the City of Corpus Christi be, and they hereby are, authorized
and directed to execute a contract for and on behalf of said
City of Corpus Christi a contract by and between said City and
Claud Bostright for the purpose of servicing an elevated water
tank located Sam Rankin Street in the City of Corpus Christi, for
a period of two years, a copy of which contract is attached hereto
and spade a part hereof, and reads as follows. to -wits

GENTLEMEN:
I herewith submit a contract to service yew ------ 250, 000
Gallon elevated water tank, located at -- Sam Rankin Street, Corpus Christi,
for a period of (2) -Two ---------------------------- years, from the date of this contract

the first payment to be due 6 months from at of con c , ce to consist of the
following items:
(1) Packing of nipple, tighten tie rods, cleaning and painting top wall, run around
bannister, saucer of bowl, legs, upright ladder, rotary ladder, turn buckle, bolts, rivets.
spider rods, saddle, everything from ground up painted in and out.
(2) Contractor to furnish all paint and paint water tank once each year if needed.
The nedd shall be determined by the Superintendent of the City Water Dept.
(3) Metal cleaned with chipping hammer, wire brush or sand blast, then covered
with one or two or three coats of paint, as said Superintendent shall require.
(4) I will inspect tower or standpipe once each year and keep them free from rust
and scales during the period of this contract.
(5) Tank washed once each year if the City so directs. I will during the term of
this contract make repairs, replace any worn or damaged iron or steel construction on
said above described tank, at an extra cost from painting contract.
(6) I agree to furnish all labor, equipment necessary to perform such work.

SECTION 2. The fact that it is necessary to the public
health and welfare for this water tank at Sam Rankin Street in
the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, to be kept in good condition
and repair creates a public emergency and public imperative nec-
essity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no Ordinance
or Resolution shall be passed finally on the date it is introduced
and that such Ordinance or Resolution shall be read at three several
meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared that
such public emergency and imperative necessity exist, and having
requested that such Charter rule be suspended, and That this Ordinance
be passed finally on the date of its introduction and take effect
and be in full force and effect from and after its introduction
and passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY ORDAINED.

Gentlemens
For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause
of the foregoing Ordinance, a public emergency and an im-
perative necessity exist for the suspension of the Charter
rule or requirement that no ordinance or resolution shall
be passed finally on the date it is introduced, and that
such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several
meetings of the City Council, I, therefore hereby request
that you suspend said Chaster rule or requirement and pass
this ordinance finally on the date it is introduced, or at
the present meeting of'the City Council.
