CREATING, AND DIVIDING THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS, INTO TRENTY (20) WARDS, DESCRIBING THE BOUNDARIES THEREOF; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES AND PARTS OF ORDI- NANCES IN CONFLICT HERENITH; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY', BEING ORDINANCE NO. 1671, PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL ON THE 18TH DAY OF APRIL, A. D. 1444. BY MAKING CERTAIN ADDITIONS TO CITY WARD NUMBER 11, AS DESCRIBED IN SECTION I THEREOF; A19D DECLARING AN mm- GENCY. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, by Ordinance dated April 18, 1844, passed and approved an Ordinance setting up, creating and dividing the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, into treaty (20) wards, describing the boundaries 'Jv thereof; and WHEREAS, it is deemed by the City Council necessary to make an amendment to City Ward No. 11, as described in Section I of said Ordinance, in order that now and additional territory which has been annexed and added to the City of Corpus Christi since the date of the passage of said Ordinance might be included In its proper ward in said City; NON, THEREFORE, HE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS; SECTION 1. That Ordinance No. 1671, passed and approved by the City Council of the City of Corpus Christi, ^Texas, on the 18th day of April, A. D. 1944, and recorded in Volume 13 on Page 654 of the Ordinance and Resolution Records of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, and entitled; *AN ORDINANCE SETTING DP, CREATING, AND DIVIDING THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS, INTO - TWENTY (20) WARDS; DES- CRIBING THE BOUNDARIES THEREOF; REPEAL- ING ALL ORDINANCES AND PARTS OF ORDI- NANCES IN CONFLICT HESi1ry4ITE; AND DECLAR- ING AN EMERGENCY", be emended as follows, to -wits That City Ward No. 11, as described in Section I of said Ordinance, be amended so as to read hereafter as follows, to�wit: "City Ward No. 11 shall comprise and shall include that area bounded as follows, to -wit: Beginning at the intersection of the centerline of Baldwin Boulevard and the eenterline of Naples Street; thence in a northwesterly direction with the oenterline of Baldwin Boulevard and the present city limits line to its intersection with the northwest property lice of Prescott Street; theme in a southwesterly direction with the northwest property line of Prescott Street, same being the present city limits line, to its intersection with the northeast property line of Tarleton Street (Fifth Avenue); thence in a northwesterly direction with the north- east property line of Tarleton Street (Fifth Avenue), same being the present city limits limo to a point that is directly northeast of the intersection of the northeast property line of Lot 6, Block G, Paisley's Subdivision of the Hoffman Tract and the east property line of Fort Avenue; thence southwest to the intersection of the northeast property line of Lot 6, Block G, Paisley's Subdivision of the Hoffman Tract and the east property line of Port Avenue; thence in a northwesterly direction crossing Port Avenge with the northeast property line of Lot 6, Block G, Paisley's Subdivision of the Hoffman Tract to -its intersection with the west property line of Port Avenue; thence south with the .west property line of Port Avenue to its intersection with the southeast property line of Lot 6, Block G, Paisley's Subdivision of the Hoffman Trect; thence southwesterly with the southeast property line of Lot 6, Block G, Paisley's Subdivision of the hloff- man Tract to the south corner of said lot 6; thence in a northwesterly direction with the southwest property line of lot 6, Block G, Paisley's Subdivision of the Hoffman Tract to the west corner of said Lot 6; thence in a north- easterly direction with the northwest property line of lot 6, Block G. Paisley's Subdivision of the Hoffman Tract to the north corner of said Let 6; thence southeasterly with the northeast property line of Lot 6, Block G, paisley's Subdivision of the Roffman Tract to its intersection with the east property line of Niagara Street extended; thence northeasterly with the extension of Niagara Street to its intersection with the northeast property line of Tarleton Street (Fifth Avenue) extended, thence southeasterly with the northeast property line of Tarleton Street (Fifth Avenue) extension to its intersection with the east prop- erty line of Fort lvemej thence north with the east property lineLof Port Avenue, same being the present city limits line, to its intersection with the oenterlins of Baldwin Boulevard; thence southeast with the centerline of Baldwin Boulevard Boulevard to the oenterlim of Prescott Street; thence in a northeast direction with the centerline of Prescott Street to its intersection with the centerline of Nineteenth Street; thence southeast with the centerline of Nineteenth Street to its intersection with the oenterline of McKenzie Street; thence in a north- easterly direction with the centerline of McKenzie Street to its intersection with the centerline of Booty Street; thence in an easterly direction with the centerline of Booty Street to its intersection with the centerline of South Staples Street; thence in a southerly direction with the centerline of South Staples Street (Colorado Avenue) to its intersection with the centerline of Naples Street; thence in a southwesterly direction with the ceaterline of Naples Street to the place of beginning; also that area bounded, tohwit, as follower Beginning at the point of intersection st the east property line of dyers Street and the south property lies of Dahlia Terrace extended; thence in a northwesterly direction with the south property line of Dahlia Terrace Addition and the north property Use of La Armed& No. S Sousing Unit end the north property line of Pineda Park to its intersection with the southeast property line of Prescott Street; thence in a southwesterly direction with the southeast property line of Prescott Street to its intersection with the east property line of South Port Avenue; thence south with the east property line of South Port Avenne to its intersection with the southwest property line of Broadmoor Park No. 3 and the northeast prop- erty line of La Armada No. 1 and No. 2, D.S.H.A. Housing Unit; thence southeasterly along the southwest property line of Broadmoor Park No. 3 Addition to its intersection with the southeast property line of Broadmoor Park No. S Addition; themes is a northeasterly direction with the southeast prop- erty lip of Broednoor Perk No. S Addition to its intersection with the south property line of Corpus Christi Independent School District Traot; thence southeasterly with the south property Jim of Corpus Christi Independent School District Trent to the southeast property line of said School District Tract; thence in a northeasterly direction with the southeast property line of the Corpus Christi Independent School District Tract to its intersection with the southwest property line d Tarleton Street; " thence in a northwesterly direction with the southwest property line of Tarleton Street to its intersection with the southeast property line of Pineda Park Addition; thence northeanterly with the southeast property line of Mode Park Addition to the north corner of the H. E. Butt Grocery Company 10 -acre tract; thence in a south- easterly direction with the northeast property line of the H. E. Butt Grocery Company 10 -more tract end the south property line of Pimda Park Subdivision to its inter- section with the southeast property line of Ayers Street; thence in a northeasterly direction with the southeast property line of Ayers Street to the place of beginning. ° SECTION 2. The fact that this amended Ordinance in necessary in order to confer properly and legally upon the residents and citizens of the annexed territory hereinbefore mentioned the rights and privileges of voting on important bond elections to be held in the mar future, and to do 00 in said Ward No. 11, and to otherwise exercise their rights and privileges ea citizens of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, in said Ward No. 11, creates a public emergency and imperative public necessity requiring the sus- pension of the Charter rule providing that no Ordinance or Reso- lution shall be passed finally on the date it is introduced, and that such Ordinance or Resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the keyor having declared that such public emergency and necessity exist and having requested that said Charter rule be suspended, and that this Ordinance take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS, ACCORDINGLY, SO ORDAINED.
