AN ORDINANCE RECEIVING INTO THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS, PROPERTY ADJACENT TO THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, AND FULLY DESCRIBING SAME AS AN INTEGRAL PART OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI; DEFINING ITS LIMITS AND DECLARING THE SAME A PART OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, SUBJECT_ TO TAE CONDITIONS AND THE RULES, REGULATIONS, ORDINANCES, AND CHARTER OF TEE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. WHEREAS, the City of Corpus Christi did, on the2-11 day of December, 1944, enter into an agreement with Guaranty Title and Trust Company, Mrs. Clam Driscoll, Edwin F. Flato, Glover Johns, 17. B. Russ, J. R. Locke and Mrs. Brent R. Locke, owners of the property hereinafter described, to admit said property into the City of Corpus Christi; and - WHEREAS, there are no resident voters within said territory; and WHEREAS, said property is adjacent to, and adjoins, the city limits of the City of Corpus Christi; and WHEREAS. the City Council of the City of Corpus Christi deems it advisable and to the best interest of said city that the following described property be admitted into the City of Corpus Christi, NO7i'i, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY MH CITY COUNCIL GP ;HE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS; SECTION 1. That the territory defined by metes and bounds as follows, to -wit, Beginning at a point in the present eity limits line; said point of beginning being the intersection of, the oenterline of the Texas Mexican Railroad and the present city limits line which lies 51 west of and parallel to the east boundary line of the Old Robstown Road; THENCE in a northerly direction with the present city limits line which is 51 east of and parallel to the Old Yobstown Road to the intersection of said City limits line and the easterly extension of the south boundary line of a 60T road connecting Old Robstowa Road with Baldwin Blvd; THENCE in a westerly and northwesterly direction with the south boundary line of the 60, road connecting Old Robstown load and Baldwin Blvd. to the intersection of said south boundary line and the boundary line Of Baldwin Blvd; THENCE in a southeasterly and southerly direction with the east boundary line of Baldwin Blvd. crossing the Texas Mexican Railroad and State Highway l4 to the Intersection of east boundary of Baldwin Blvd. and the south boundary line of State Highway l4 ;, THENCE in a westerly direction with the south boundary Jim of State Highway U4 to its intersection with the west property line of Block 17 (127.5 acres), Russell Farm Blocks; THENCR in a southerly direction with the west property line of Block 17 and Block 16 of the Russell Farm Blocks to the southwest corner of said Block 16; THENCE in an easterly direction with the south property line of Block 16, Russell Farm Block extended to its intersection with the present city limits line in the southeast boundary line of the Old Brownsville Road, same being the northwest property line of Municipal Airport of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas; THENCE in a northeasterly direction with the present city limits line, same being the southeast boundary line of the Old Brownsville Road and the northwest property line of the Municipal Airport of Corpus Christi, Texas, to its intersection with the present city limits line in Airport Road extended, said city limits line in Airport Road being 51 west of and parallel to the east boundary lino of Airport Road; THENCE in a northerly direction across Morgan Street with the extension of the present city limits line and with the present city limits line in Airport Bead, said city limits line being 51 west of and parallel to the east boundary line of Airport Road, to its intersection with the centerline of the Texas Mexican Railroad, same being point of beginningi be, and the same is hereby, admitted into the City of Corpus Christi, as an integral part thereof, and said territory shall hereafter be a part of the City of Corpus Christi, subject to the general laws of the State of Texas, the City Charter, and the Ordinances, Resolutions, Motions, and Regulations of the City of Corpus Christi. Such terri- tory shall bear its proportionate share of all taxes levied by the City, and its inhabitants shall have all the privileges and be subject to all the duties, of other inhabitants of the City of Corpus Christi. SECTION 2. The fact that the owners of such territory desire that the same be immediately incorporated within the city limits of the City of Corpus Christi, and the fact that it is imperative for the well -being or the City of Corpus Christi that such territory be imediately incorporated within the city limits of the City of Corpus Christi, create a public emergency and imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no Ordi- nance or Resolution be passed finally on the date of its introduction, and that said Ordinance or Resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council; and the Mayor, in writing, having declared that said emergency and imperative necessity exist, and having requested that said Charter rule be suspended, and that this Ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduction, and that this Ordinance take effect and be in fall force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS $0 ORDAINED. Texas ATTEST: City seor"gry APPROVED; City Attorney For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the foregoing Ordinance, a public emergency and imperative necessity exist for the suspension of the Charter rule or requirement that no Ordinance or Resolution shall be passed finally on the date it is introduced, and that such Ordinance or Resolution shall be read at three several meet- ings of the City Council= I, therefore, hereby request that you suspend such Charter rule or requirement and pass this Ordinance finally on the date it is introduced, or at the present meeting of the City Council.
