Thatthe City Secretly Of the City of Corpus Christi is hereby authorized and directed to advertise immediately in the meaner prescribed by the City Charter of the City of Corpus Christi for bide on a one -story frame building of the hereinafter set out dimensions and mnactmetion to be purchased by the City Of Corpus Christi for use as a part of an emergency diaaster center which also may be used as an emergency recreation center, tom -t: A one -story frame building, 34 feet wide by 212 feet 1ong; 211,4- stud walls, 16" on centers; 2 "x8" floor Joists-161- on centers; -2 "xµ" roof rafters and ods e, 2 t4" on canters; the interior finish is 1�" thick insulation board; the ex- terior is 1" sheathing covered with 15 -pound building felt -scored with 1/2" x 1 -1/2" battens; The roof is also 1" sheathing covered with build- ing felt secured with 1/2" x 1 -1�2" battens. The building has doublo -hung wood windows, wood doors and a 1" wood floor. which said building is not to have been constructed prior to 1939, and which said building will be available for removal to a location within. the City limits of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, by February 15, 1945s or soon thereafter. Section 2, The fact that the City o£ Corpus Christi does not have adequate facilities for hospitalisation and the provisions for caring for the equipment of the local organization of the Texas Defense Guard are inadequate, and the further fact that there is a pressing need for an emergency recreation center, and it is essential to the protection and safety of the inhabitants of the City of Corpus Christi that such facilities be provided, create a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no Ordinance or R9- Olutien shall be passed finally on the date it is introduced and that such Ordinance or Resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared that such public emergency and imperative necessity exist, and having requested that such Charter rule be suspended and that this Ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduction, and take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS, ACCORDNGIZ, SO 91"Irm. Sacre ary / APPROVED AS TO ISGAL FORM2 ActingWity Atmornsy Corpus Christi, Texae 1945 U TO THE MEMBERS OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI Corpus Christi, Texas Gentle men: For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the foregoing Ordinance, a public emergency and imperative necessity exist for the suspension of the Charter rule or requirement that no Ordinance or Resolution shall be passed finally on the date it is introduced, and that such Ordinance or Resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council; I, therefore, hereby request that you suspend such Charter rule or requirement and pass this Crdinance finally on the date it is introduced, or at the present meeting of the City Council.
