AN ORDINANCE
AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE MAYOR
AND CITY CONTROLLER OF THE CITY OF
CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS, TO EXECUTE,
FOR AND ON BEHALF OF SAID CITY, A
WARRANTY DEED TO MRS. ELIZABETH MERRITT;
AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the Mayor and Coutmller of the
City of Corpus Christi, Texas, be, and they are hereby, authorized
and direetk to execute, for and on behalf or said City, a
warranty deed to Mrs. Elizabeth Merritt, a copy of which deed is
attached hereto and made a part hereof, and reads as follows,

%BOB ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENTS: That the City of
Corpus Christi, Texas, a municipal corporation, located in Nueoss
County, Texas, for and in consideration of the aura of Four Hundred
Dollars ($400) to it in hand paid by Mrs. Elizabeth Merritt, out of
her own separate property and estate, has Granted, Sold, and Con-
veyed, and by these presents does Grant, Sell, and Convey unto the
said Mre. Elizabeth Merritt, of Hueces County, Texas, wife of Joe
Merritt, to her sole and separate use and benefit and as her sole
and separate estate, all that certain piece or parcel of land lying
and being situated in the County of Nueees and State of Texas, des-
cribed as follows, to -wit,
BEING all that portion of Lot 13 -A, Block 40, Hillorest
Addition lying south of Buffalo Street and more particularly
described as follawae
BEGINNING at the southwest corner of Lot Pft. Block 40,
Hilloreat Addition, same being the southeast corner of
Lot 16 and the northeast corner of Lot 15, Block 40,
Hillorest Addition
THENCE, B. 304'09' E. a distance of 51.15 ft. with the
west property line of Lot 13 -A, acme being the east
property line of Late 16, 17, and 18, Block 40, Hilloreat
Addition, to a point for a corner in the south property
line of Buffalo Street;
THENCE, S. 890 26' lyoe 8. a distance of 45.25 feet with
the south props rip line of Buffalo Street to a point for
a corner in the east property line of Lot 13-A, Block 1,G,
Hillarest Addition=
THENCE: 5. 290 lily' W- a distance of 73.62 feet with the
east property line of Lot 13-A, Block 40, Hilloreat
Addition, to the southeast corner of said Lot 13-At
TBENCEr H. 59a 51' B. a distance of 40.0 feet with the
south property line of Lot 13 -A, Block 40, Hillarest
Addition to the southwest corner of said lot, the place
of beginning.
TO HAVE AND TO HOLD the above described promisee,
together with 9,11 and singular the rights and appurtenances thereto
in anywise belonging unto the said Mrs. Elizabeth Merritt, to and
for her sole and separate use and as her sole and separate estate,
her hairs and assigns forever; end the Cit7 of Corpus Christi, Tease,
does hereby bind itself, its successors and assigns, to warrant and
forever defend all and singular the said premises unto the said Mrs.
Elisabeth Merritt, her heirs and assigns, against every person
whomsoever lawfully claiming, or to claim, the same or my part
thereof.

day personally appeared A. 0. MoCAH6AAN, known to me to be the
person whose name is subscribed to the foregoing instrument,
as Mayor of the City of Corpus Christi, Taxes, and acknowledged
to me that he executed the same for the purposes and consideration
therein expressed, as the act and deed of said City and under the
seal thereof, and in his official capacity as stated.

SECTION 2. The public importance of this Ordinance
creates a public emergency and a public imperative necessity requir-
ing the suspension of the Charter rule or requirement that no Ordi-
nance or Resolution shall be passed finally on the date it is intro -
duoed, and that such Ordinance or Resolution shall be read at three
several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor, in writing,
having declared that such public emergendy and imperative necessity
exist, and having requested that such Charter rule be suspended,
and that this Ordinance be passed finally on the date of its intro-
duction and take effect and be in full force and effect from and
after its passage, IT IS, ACCORDINGLY, SO ORDAINED.

Gentlemen:

of the foregoing Ordinance, a public emergency and an imperative
necessity exist for the suspension of the Charter rule or require-
ment that no Ordinance or Resolution shall be passed Finally on
the date it is introduced, and that such Ordinance or Resolution
shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council; I,
therefore, hereby request that you suspend said Charter rule or
requirement and pass this Ordinance finally on the date it is
introduced, or at the present meeting of the City Council.
