CAPTIONED "USE OF CRITICAL MATERIALS ", OF CHAPTER 9 OF AN ORDINANCE PASSED AND APPROPED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS. ON THE 25th DAY OF MARCH, L942, AND MM AS THE "ELECTRICAL ORDINANCE BEING ORDINANCE No. _L441, RECORDED IN VOLUME 12 AT PAGES 585 ET SEQ. OF THE ORDINANCE AND RESOLUTION RECORDS OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI= AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. WHEREAS, scarcity of certain critical electrical materials and installations during the period of the war made it necessary for the Council to relax oertain standards of electrical construction by including in Ordinance ]mown as "ELECTRICAL ORDINANCE, ".passed by it on March 25, 1942, and appearing of record in Volume 12 at pages 585 at seq. of the Ordinance sad Resolution Records of the City of Corpus Christi, a Section captioned "SECTION 9-22 USE OF CRITICAL MATERIALS ", which provided for use of substitutes when critical materials were not available; and WHEREAS, it has been brought to the attention of the Council that said critical electrical materials and installations are now available aaa it S. th. a..i— of tae Coen.il that the high standards and provisions of the National Electrical Code be hereafter strictly enforced as prescribed , in the remaining provisions of said "ELECTRICAL ORDINANCE": THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORALS CHRISTI, TEXAS= SECTION 1, That Section 9 -2 of Chapter 9 of the Ordinance known as "ELECTRICAL ORDINANCE ", being Ordinance No. 1!♦L{1, passed and approved by the City Council on March 25, 1942. be, and the same is hereby repealed. SECTION 2. Gentlemen: For the reasons get forth in the emergency clause of the foregoing Ordinance, a public emergency and an imperative necessity exist for the suspeasioa of the Charter rule or requirement that no Ordinance or Resolution shall be passed finally on the date it is introduced and that such Ordinance or Resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, I. therefore, hereby request that you suspend said Charter rule or requirement and pass this Ordinance finally on the date it is introduced, or at the present meeting of the City Oomo1Y.
