HomeMy WebLinkAbout01853 ORD - 10/16/1945AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE MAYOR AND CITY CONTROLLER OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS, TO EXECUTE FOR AND ON BEHALF OF SAID CITY A DEED TO H. C. SALTER AND WIFE, DOLLY SALTER; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. WHEREAS, H. C. Salter and wife, Dolly Salter, are the owners of was certain property which a situated on Corpus Christi Bay prior to the filling in of the submerged land in said bay as a part of the Bayfront Improvement Project of the City of Corpus Christi, and the city has caused the bay immediately in front of the said Salterst property to be filled in, and the City of Corpus Christi desires that its title be quieted to the lands lying immediately east of the property hereinafter described in the deed to be executed and said city desires to acquire a twenty -foot strip of land for the widening of Water Street; and, WHEREAS, the said Salters and the Oity of Corpus Christi, Texas, have agreed upon an exchange of deeds in order that the title of each may be quieted in their respective propertiess THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXASs Section 1. That the Mayor and City Controller of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, be, and they are hereby, authorized.and directed to execute for and on behalf of said city, a deed to H. C. Salter and wife, Dolly Salter, a copy of said deed being made a part hereof and reading as follows& mJ 10,53 THE STATE OF TEXAS Q jq 8N06 AII MEN BY THESE PRESENTS: COLETY OF NUECES That the CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS, a municipal corporation, of the County of Nueces and State of Texas, for and in consideration of the sun of Ten Dollars (V 10.00) to it in hand paid by H. C. Salter and wife, Dolly Salter, and in further consideration of a conveyance by grantees herein to the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, of even date herewith, said conveyance conveying to said city a strip of land 20 feet wide lying along the west side of Lot No. Seven (7) of the Subdivision of the Harney Tract, and said conveyance further conveying to said city all right, title and interest of the said Salters east of the east line of the property hereinafter described and conveyed in this conveyance, and said conveyance further conveying to said city all rights of alluvian and accretion and other littoral and /or riparian rights in and to the said tracts of land, except that held by the general public in and to the lands covered by extensions of the streets of Corpus Christi running,in an easterly dircetion over the submerged lands of Corpus Christi Bay, and other good and valuable conoid- orations, receipt of which is hereby acknowledged, have GRANTED, BARGAMED, SOLD AND CGNVEM, and by these presents do GRANT, BARGAIN, SELL AND CONVEY unto the said H. C. SAIMM AAD WIPE, DOLLY SALTER, of the County of Nueces and State of Texas, the following described tract or parcel of land, being and situated in Nueces County, Texas, and within the corporate limits of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, and being more fully described as follows, to -wit: Being a tract of land on the east side of Ocean Drive (Water Street) and of a part of Lot No. Seven (7) of the Subdivision of the Harney Tract, and including a portion of land east of said Lot No. Seven (7) and more par- ticularly described as follows: Beginning at a point in the north property line of the H. C. Salter Tract, said property line being the north property line of Lot Ho. seven (7) of the Subdivision of the Harney Tract, beginning point beard H. 84 211 80" E 83.92 fact from the intersectia" of the north property line of Lot Ho.
