AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING TEE CITY MAGER OF
THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI TO EXECUTE FOR AND
ON BEHALF OF SAID CITY A SPECIAL WARRANTY DEED
TO W. A. WAKEFIELD, SR., N. E. HICKS, AND W. 0.
ROBINSON, TRUSTEES FOR THE CHURCH OF CHRIST OF
HILLCREST; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
WHEREAS, the City of Corpus Christi is the owner of certain
land hereinafter described which is of no use to the City and is not
being used for any purpose at this time; and
WHEREAS, the maintenance and upkeep of such land is an expense
to the City;
NCVY, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE.CITY
OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager of the City of Corpus Christi
be and he is hereby authorized and directed to execute for and on behalf
of the City of Corpus Christi a special warranty deed to W. A. Wakefield,
Sr., N. E. Hicks, and W. 0. Robinson, Trustees for the Church of Christ
of Hillcrest, a copy of which deed is attached hereto and made a part
hereof and reads as follows, to -wit:

KNOW ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENTSt That the City of Corpus
Christi, Texas, a municipal corporation, of the County of Nueces and
State of Texas, for and in consideration of the sum of Seven Hundred
Dollars ($700.00) to it in hand paid by W. A. Wakefield, Sr., N. E.
Hicks, and Iff. 0. Robinson. Trustees for the Church of Christ of Hillorest,
the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged and confessed, have granted,
sold and conveyed, and by these presents do .grant, sell and convey unto
the said W. A. Kakefield, Sr., N. E. nicks. and W. 0. Robinson, Trustees
for the Church of Christ of Hillorest, of the County of laueces, State
of Texas, all that certain tract or parcel of land, being situated in
Nueoes County, Texas, and within the corporate limits of the City of
Corpus Christi, Texas, and being an irregular tract of land out of
Block 21, Hillorest Addition, to the City of Corpus Christi, Nueoes
County, Texas, and consisting of fractional Lots 5, 6. 7 and 8, and
being; more particularly described as followso
Beginning at a point in the northwest boundary line
of Peabody Street at the southeast corner of Lot
No. 9, Block No. 21, Hillorest Addition for the north-
east corner of this tract, said point being also the
northeast corner of Lot Not 8, Block No. 21, Hillorest
Addition.
Thence. north 520 59' west along the southwest boundary
line of Lot No. 9, Block No. 21, Hillorest Addition, a
distance of 130 feet for the northwest corner of this
tract, being also the southwest corner of Lot No. 9
and the northwest corner of Lot No. 8, Block No. 21,
Hillorest Addition.
Thence, south 300 Olt west a distance of 87.34' along
the northwest boundary line of Lots No. 8, 7, 6 k 5,
Block No. 21, Hillorest Addition. to s point in the
northwest boundary line of Buffalo Street, for the
southwest corner of this tract.
Thence, south 890 39f east with the north boundary line
Of Buffalo Street, a distance of 149.72 feet to its
point of intersection with the northwest boundary line
of Peabody Street, for the southeast corner of this tract.
Thence, north 300 01+ east a distance of 13.05 feet along
the northwest boundary line of Peabody Street, same being
the southeast boundary line of Lot No. 8, Block No. 21,
Hillorest Addition, to the place of beginning.
Containing 0.15 acres.
TO HAVE AND TO HOLD the above desoribed premises, together
with all and singular the rights snd appurtenances thereto in anywise

Robinson, Trustees for the Churoh of Christ of ilillerest, their heirs,
successors and assigns; and the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, does hereby
bind itself$ its successors and assigns, to warrant and forever defend
all and singular the said premises unto the said W. L—Wakefield, Sr.,
r. E. Hicks, and W. 0. Robinson, Trustoes for the Church of Christ of
Hillorest, their heirs, successors and assigns, a6ainst every Person

Before me, the undersigned authority, on this day personally
appeared Roderic B. Thomas, known to me to be the person whose name is
subscribed to the foregoing instrument as City Manager of the City of
Corpus Christi, Texas, and acknowledged to me that he exeouted the same
as the aot and deed of said City and under the seal thereof, and in his
Official capacity as stated, and for the purposes and consideration
therein expressed.
Given under my hand and seal of office this the day of
January, A. i)., 1517.

SECTION 2. The public importance of this Resolution creates
a public emergency and public imperative necessity requiring the sus-
pension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be
passed finally on the date it is introduced, and that such ordinance
or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City
Council, and the Mayor having declared that such public emergency and
imperative necessity exist, and having requested that such Charter rule
be suspended, and that this resolution be passed finally on the date of
its introduction, take effect and be in full force and effect from and
after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY RESOLVED.

Gentlemen,
For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of
the foregoing resolution, a public emergency and imperative
necessity exist for the suspension of the Charter rule or re-
quirement that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally
on the date it is introduced, and that such ordinance or resolution
shall be read at three meetings of the City Council; I, therefore,
hereby request that you suspend said Charter rule or requirement
and pass this resolution finally on the date it is introduced, or
at the present meeting of the City Council.
