Gentlemen:
For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the
foregoing resolution, a public emergency and imperative necessity
exist for the suspension of the Charter rule or requirement that no
ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date it is
introduced, and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at
three meetings of the City Council; I, therefore, hereby request
that you suspend said Charter rule or requirement and pass this
ordinance finally on the date it is introduced, or at the present
meeting of the City Council.

AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER
TO EXECUTE FOR TAE CITY OF CORHTS CHRISTI,
TEXAS, A LEASE AGREEMENT WITH MRS. IDA MAE
BEATS FOR .LAND AT THE MUNICIPAL AIRFORT=
AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF TEE CITY OF CORr -US
CHRISTI, TEXAS=
SECTION 1. That, the City Manager of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas,
be,and he is hereby authorized and directed to execute for and on behalf of the
City of Corpus Christi, Texas, a lease agreement With Mrs. Ida Mae Beals covering
a plot of land at Cliff Maus Municipal Airport, a copy of said lease agreement
is set out as follows and made a part of this ordinance, to -wit,

upon the following conditions and covenants, to -wits
First. Lessee, at her own expense, Stall place on surface foun-

and if no seen adequate facilities are available, lessee, at her expei.se
shall cause to be installed a septic tank sufficient to dispose of waste

connected thereto. Any septic tank so installed shall remain the pro-
perty of lessee and shall be removable by lessee at hvr expense on
termination of the tenancy created herein.
Second. lessee agrees to pay to lessor. not later than the
5th day of each and every month, rent in an amount equal to five per

vice conducted in said cuisine building;. Lessee agrees to keep and

Third. After thirty days' written notice in advance to lessee„
lessor shall have the right to declare this lease contract cancelled
and terminated and to re -enter said promises ana remove all persons
therefrom: without prejudice to any legal remedies which may be used
for collection or rent, all and every claim for damages, for or by
reason of said re -entry being hereby expressly waived.
Fourth. ShoAld there at arty timE be any default in the pay-
ment of any rout, or in any of the covenants heroin contained, then
it shall be lawful for the lessor to declare this lease oontraot ""-
veiled and terminated, and to re -eater said premises and remove all
persons therefrom without prejudice to any legal remedies wi:ioh may be
used for the ooll..ation oi' rent, all 4nd every claim for damages, for
or by reason of said re -entry being, hereby expressly waived.

quit der the said premises in as good state and condition
as a reasa$ able use and wear thereof will permit.
Sixth• Lessee is not to sublet the said promises, or any
part thereof, without written permission from lessor.
seventh. It is expressly agreed and understooO by and be-
tween the parties hereto, that the lessor shall have, and by this
contract Ius a valid first lien upon any and all the goods, furniture,
chattels, or property of any description bolonciag to the lessee as
a security for the paymont of all rent due or to become due, and any
and all exemption laws in force in this state by whioh said property
might be held, are hereby expressly waived.

SECTION 2. It being necessary that the above tract be leased to
insure a proper eating establishment at the air port, and the public importance
of this matter oreates a public emergency and public imperative necessity re-
quiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no Ordinance or Resolution shall
be passed finally on the date it is introduced and that such Ordinance or Reso-
lution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor
having declared that such public emergency and imperative necessity exist, and
having requested that such Charter rule be suspended, and that this Ordinance
be passed finally on the date of its introduction and take effect and be in full
force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY ORDAINED.
