ATEPL&S, on the 25th day of February, 1947, an Ordinance
was passed transferring the taxicab franchise held by R. H. Canner
and J. D. Irwin, doing business as Union Taxicab Company, to
Brooks Lindsey, doing business under name of G. 1. Cab Company,
same having been in error due to wrongful information furnished
the Legal Department;
NON, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THY; CI`_'Y COUNCIL OF
TFE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS;"
SECTION 1. That Ordinance No. 2037 entitled
"AN ORDINANCE TRANSFERRING THE TAXICAB FRANCHISE

BUSINESS AS UNION TAYICAB COMPANY TO BROOIiS
LINDSFY, DOING BUSINESS UNDFR TI-10, NAVE OF G. I.

be and is herein in all respects repealed and same is to be void and
of no force and effect.
SECTION 2. For the reason set out in the "Tihereas Clause"
of this Ordinance and the necessity of correcting the mistake hereto-
fore made, creates a public emergency and public imperative necessity
requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or
resolution shall be passed finally on the day it is introduced and
that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings
Of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared that such public
emergency and imperative necessity exist, and having regv.ested that
such Charter rule be suspended, and that this Crdinance be passed
finally on the day of its introduction and take effect, and be in full
force and effect, from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO
OPDAINLD.

Gentlemen:
For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the
foregoing ordinance, a public emergency and imperative necessity
exist for the suspension of the Charter rule or requirement that
no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date it
is introduced, and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read
at three meetings of the City Council; I, therefore, hereby request
that you suspend said Charter rule or requirement and pass this
ordinance finally on the date it is introduced, or at the present
meeting of the City Council.
