HomeMy WebLinkAbout02050 RES - 04/01/1947A RESOLUTION ADOPTING AND APPROVING A SCHEDULE OF RATES FOR RESIDENTIAL SERVICE FOR ELECTRICAL SER- VICE FURNISHED BY CENTRAL POWER AND LIGHT COMPANY IN THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. WHOM, Mr. E. S. Joslin, District Manager of the Central Power and Light Company in Corpus Christi, Texas, has appeared before the City Council and has presented a schedule of rates proposed to be promulgated by Central Power and Light Company to consumers of electric power and energy located within the city limits of said City and has requested the said City Council to consider and approve such schedule; and WHEREAS, the City Council has read and considered the schedule of rates proposed by Mr. Joslin on behalf of Central Power and Light Company; and WHEREAS, after due study and consideration, it appears that the schedule of rates proposed is fair and would be for the benefit of the City of Corpus Christi and the consumers of'electrioity located therein; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the said schedule of rates is hereby in all things approved, ratified and confirmed and is ordered to be in effect as of the final meter reading date after day of �DY, 1947• A copy of such schedule of rates being attached hereto and made a part of this resolution for all pertinent purposes and reads as follows: NET CENTRAL POWER AND LIGHT COMPANY S3CHEDULEtLA -CCe- RESIDENTIAL SERVICE AVAILABILITY This schedule is available for all Electric Service required for residential purposes in private dwellings, and in separately teetered individual family apartments, when all service, except controlled unit of Electric water heater, is supplied at one point of delivery and measured through one meter. Where two family or housekeeping units are served through one meter, it will be optional with the Customer whether the kilowatt -hour steps in the rate and the minimum bill pro- visions will be doubled for billing purposes or whether all of the service will be furnished under the Commercial Service Schedule. Where more than two family units or apartments are served through one meter, billing will be under the applicable Commercial Service Schedule or other schedules optional to it. This schedule is not available for a residence that is used for any commercial business; however, if the Customer's wiring is so arranged that the Electric Service for residential purposes and for non- residential purposes can be metered separately, then this schedule is available to that portion used for residential purposes. The service furnished hereunder will be single - phase, 60 cycle, 115/230 volts alternating current. Three phase service will be furnished under this schedule as outlined under the Company's Standard Terms and Conditions. NET MONTHLY RATE $0.75 which includes the use of 12 kilowatt -hours 4.50 each for the next 38 kilowatt- hours. 3.00 each for the next 100 kilowatt -hours 2.00 each for all additional kilowatt -hours used For Customers Having Loads in Excess of 5 Kilowatts When the Customer's Load exceeds 5 kilowatts, the 3Q block of the above rate will be increased by 150 kilowatt hours for each kilowatt over 5. Minimum Monthly Bill $0.75 per month plus $1.00 for each kilowatt of Customer's load over 5, using as a basis the Customer's greatest load during the 12 months ending with the current month. DETERMINATION OF CUSTOMER'S LOAD Customer's load will be measured and will be the average kilowatts used by the Customer during the 15 minute period of maximum use during the month. TERMS OF PAYMENT All bills are due when rendered and are payable within ten days thereafter. TERMS AND CONDITIONS Service will be furnished under the Company's Standard Terms and Conditions. SECTION 2. Any and all resolutions in conflict herewith heretofore passed are hereby repealed. SECTION 3. The necessity for simplifying the residential electric service rates in the City of Corpus Christi and to insure a lower billing rate creates a public emergency and imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule or requirement that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction, and that said Ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared that such emergency and public imperative necessity exist, and requested that said Charter rule be suspended and that this resolution be passed finally on the date of its introduction, and take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passages IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO RESOLVED.
