ACCEPTING THE PROPOSAL OF THE CORPUS CHRISTI
PRESS, SUBMITTED BY FRANK B. HARRISON, PUBLISHER,
TO PUBLISH ALL LEGAL NOTICES, ORDINANCES, AND
RESOLUTIONS, ETC., REQUIRED BY THE CHARTER OF
THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS, TO BE PUB-
LISHED AT THE TERMS SET FORTH THEREIN; DESIGNA-
TING THE CORPUS CHRISTI PRESS THE OFFICIAL
NEVISPAPER OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI; .AND
DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS
CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the proposal of the Corpus Christi Press,
submitted by Frank B. Harrison, publisher, which said proposal is
attached hereto and made a part hereof and reads as follows:

general circulation,entered as second class mail matter
at the Corpus Christi postoffice and meets all legal

be and the same is hereby accepted, and the Mayor of the City of Corpus
Christi is hereby authorized to execute the acceptance of such proposal.
SECTION 2. That the Corpus Christi Press is hereby designated
as the official newspaper of the City of Corpus Christi for the period
of one year, beginning April 8 , 1947.
SECTION 3. The public importance of this ordinance creates
a public emergency and imperative public necessity requiring the
suspension of the Charter rule or requirement that no ordinance or
resolution shall be passed finally on the date it is introduoed, and
that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several
meetings of the City Coucil, and the Mayor having declared in writing
that such public emergency and imperative necessity exist, and having -
requested that such Charter rule be suspended, and that this Ordinance
be passed finally on the date of its introduction and take effect and
be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS, ACCORD-
INGLY, SO ORDAINED.
PASSED AND APPROVED this d day of April, A. D., 1947.

TO THE MEMBERS OF THE CITY COUNCIL
Corpus Christi, Texas
Gentlemen:
For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the
foregoing ordinance, a public emergency and imperative necessity
exist for the suspension of the Charter rule or requirement that no
ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date it is
introduced, and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at
three meetings of the City Council; I, therefore, hereby request that
you suspend said Charter rule or requirement and pass this ordinance
finally on the date it is introduced, or at the present meeting of
the City Council.
