HomeMy WebLinkAbout02058 ORD - 04/15/1947AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING MONEY FROM HOSPITAL CONSTRUC- TION FUND NO. 235 FOR THE PURPOSE OF PAYING AMOUNT DUE FOR IMPROVING AND EQUIPPING THE CITY -CMTY IDSPITAL, AND DECLARING AN EM- GENCY. WHEREAS, there is due the sum of Eight Thousand Eight Hundred and Sixty Nine Dollars and Eighty Six Cents ($8,869.86) for car- vices rendered and material furnished in equipping and improving the City - County Hospital. WHEREAS, the City of Corpus Christi, Texas is obligated to pay one -half 4) of the aforesaid sum which is Four Thousand Four Hundred and Thirty Four Dollars and Ninety Three Cents ($4.434.93), and WHEREAS, there are sufficient funds in the Hospital Construction Fund No. 235 which is now unencumbered and which funds are available for this purpose= NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY TEE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPTS CHRISTI, TEE: SECTION 1. That there is hereby appropriated the sum of Four Thousand Four Hundred and Thirty Four Dollars and Ninety Three Cents ($4,434.93) from the Hospital Construction Fund No. 235 which money is to be used to pay for improving and equipping of said City-County Hospital. SECTION 2. The fact that all services and materials have been furnished to equip and improve the City - County Hospital andthe fact that the money to be paid therefor is due creates a public emergency and public imperative necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date it is introduced and that such ordinanoe-or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared that such public emergency and imperative necessity exist, and having requested that such Charter rule be suspended, and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduction and take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACOORDINGLY SO ORDAINED.
