AN ORDINANCE cLO 2y
APPROPRIATING THE SUM OF $13,000.00 FROM
GENERAL FUND NO. 102 FOR THE OPERATION AND
MAINTENANCE OF CUDDIHY FIELD, AND DECLARING
AN EMERGENCY.
WREREAS, since the budget for the current fiscal year was
adopted the City has taken over the operation of Cuddihy Field, and
WEEREAS, no budgetary provision has been made for this
operation, and
WHEREAS, the probable revenues for the operation of this
field through July 31, 1947, will be approximately Fifteen Thousand Dollars
($15,000.00), and
WHEREAS, there are sufficient funds in General Fund No.
102 which is unencumbered and which funds are available for this purpose;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF CORPM CHRISTI, TKW s
SECTION 1. That there is hereby appropriated the sum of
Thirteen Thousand Dollars ($13,000.00) from General Fund No. 102 which
money is to be used for the operation and maintenance of Cuddihy Field
for the remainder of this fiscal year.
SECTION 2. The fact that the operation and maintenance
of Cuddihy Field is essential to the welfare of the citizens of this City
creates a public emergency and public imperative necessity requiring the
suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be
passed finally on the date it is introduced, and that such ordinance or
resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council,
and the Mayor having declared that such public emergency and imperative
necessity exist, and having requested that such Charter rule be suspended,
and that this Ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduc-
tion, take effect and be in full force and effect from and after to passage,
IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED.

Gentlemen:
I have examined the accounts and funds from which the
transfers and the appropriations are made, as provided for in the ordi-
nance attached hereto, and I do certify that the money to be transferred
is available, and I do further certify that the money required for such
appropriation is in the Treasury to the credit of the fund from which
such appropriations are to be drawn, and that there are monies in such
funds which are not appropriated for any other purpose and which are
available at this time.

For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the
foregoing ordinance, a public emergency and imperative necessity
exist for the suspension of the Charter rule or requirement that no
ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date it is
introduced, and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at
three meetings of the City Council; I, therefore, hereby request that
you suspend said Charter rule or requirement and pass this ordinance
finally on the date it is introduced, or at the present meeting of the
City Council.
