HomeMy WebLinkAbout02076 ORD - 04/29/1947AN ORDINANCE -'-7- �D APPROPRIATING THE SUM OF 3EYENTY -CNE THOUSAND DOLLARS ($71,000.00) FROM GENERAL FUND NO. 102 FOR "CAPITAL OUTLAY -- STREETS AND ROADWAYS" AND TRANSFERRING SAID SUM OP MONEY FROM GENERAL FUND 110. 102 TO STREET FUND NO. 108 AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. WHEREU, there is needed in Street Fund No. 108 the sum of Seventy -one Thousand Dollars ($71,000.00) for Item "Capital Outlay - Streets and Roadways" to defray street maintenance and upkeep expenses; and WHEREAS, there are sufficient funds in the General Fund No. 102, which is now unencumbered and which funds are available for this purpose; NOff, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That there is hereby appropriated the sum of Seventy -one Thousand Dollars ($71,000.00) from the General Fund No. 102 Street Fund No. 108 for /Item "Capital Outlay -- Streets and Roadways" to be used for street expenditures. SECTION 2. That there is hereby transferred said sum of Seventy - one Thousand Dollars (471,000.00) from General Fund No. 102 to Street Fund No. 108 for Item "Capital Outlay -- Streets and Roadways ". SECTION 3. The fact that it is essential to provide proper and adequate streets to insure good traffic facilities in this City creates a public emergency and public imperative necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date it is introduced and that such Ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared that such public emergency and imperative necessity exist, and having requested that such Charter rule be suspended, and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduction and take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED. ATTESTS My 3ecre ary .APPROVED AS TO LEGAL FORMS Uby Attorney Corpus Christi, Texas April 22_, 19147 TO THE MEMBERS OF THE CITY COUNCIL Corpus Christi, Texas Gentlemen: For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the foregoing ordinance, a public emergency and imperative necessity exist for the suspension of the Charter rule or requirement that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date it is introduced, and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three meetings of the City Council; I, therefore, hereby request that you suspend said Charter rule or requirement and pass this ordinance finally on the date it is introduced, or at the present meeting of the City Council.
